The Official Naanee is Garbage Thread

Naanee has been blocking his butt off, that's for sure. He also gets open, but Cam can never seem to be as accurate throwing to him as he is with Smitty and LaFell, for some reason. If Cam can ever give him a throw where he can run with it afterwards, I think fans will start loving Naanee.

how quickly the fans for get the legedoo doo of most of the season. he makes 2 catches and a few blocks and everyone forgets all his mistakes.

He really hasn't made that many mistakes. In fact, most of the incompletions and one INT to him were just as much Cam's fault for being inaccurate. Even some of the one's he's caught weren't exactly perfect passes.

this thread is becoming garbage more and more every week.

the dude has been fine the past few weeks. each week getting better.

him starting over lafell? meh...doesn't really matter all that much. lafell is on the field plenty. how often do we go with 3 WRs on the field? it's not a rarity by any means.

a lot of the "lafell should start over legs" posts are ignoring the contribution the coaches feel naanee brings to the huddle as a veteran player in that offense. it may be true that LaFell is largely outplaying him production wise but this offense can use all the help it can get when it comes to the offense right now.

    • Ravens mixing it up with a random Mark Andrew tush push last year isn't a similar situation.  Lamar has run QB sneaks his entire career.  And often instead of a traditional sneak will even employ a 4th and 1 direct snap to Lamar simply because of how athletic he is (which even Cam did a lot of) and let him pick his own holes.
    • height being an issue doesn't just mean batted balls.  You could argue Bryce minimizes batted balls by adopting other poor habits such as his jump passing and leaving the pocket.   As I said, there are plays you can point to where he clearly was blind to parts of the field/players....which kills plays and opportunity. Which actually means some of the shorter/hot throws when things break down are where his vision gets blocked (and he had below average production all around the line of scrimmage).   has he figured it out? I mean, he improved off a trainwreck start.  But Bryce Young since arriving in the league (even while figuring it out)......doesn't generate much offensive production vs his peers.  I just think his ceiling is low.   And that's not in the grand scheme what you want in the NFL.  I think he can develop into a serviceable QB, that will largely always been a middle of the pack or low end starter.
    • People make a lot of noise about his footwork and I think it is overblown. Whether he takes 3 steps backwards or 5 small steps doesn't matter as long as he ends up at the right depth and is in sync with  the receiver regarding timing. If he does that consistently who cares as long as he has a firm stable base as he delivers the ball. Which he does need to work on. However even that is somewhat overblown given that often QBs have to throw off balance or from different arm angles to fit the ball around defenders. He is considered very accurate so apparently it isn't hurting him that much.
