I'm Actually A Little Scared of This Quote

Cam on losing:

“What I hate is when a person tries to console you or talk to you and they say, “Oh man, you can’t win them all’’. What do you play for? You play so you don’t go into each game saying, “I know we’re not going to be able to win this game’’. I play to win each and every game I play and I try to put my best foot forward on every single down. I don’t go into any game saying I know we’re not going to win, we’re just going to play. I put my heart, soul, blood, sweat, and tears into this game and I expect great dividends in return.

I love, love, love the desire, but I have to admit that is a scary quote in some ways as well. Just got to get those wins.

Edit: Good frickin' grief guys, I meant scary as in "Wow, this kid will rip the league a new one!"

that crap should only be scary for other teams in the league.

this dude won't settle for losing.

i kept hearing some people say one of the knocks on newton is that he hasn't experienced a losing season. i don't want a QB that knows how to lose. i don't want an experienced loser. i want this guy who can't handle it and won't accept it.

One thing I keep thinking with all these comment's Cam makes is that people on the team better watch out. I fully expect to see Cam tearing teamates a new one ala Tom Brady/Ray Lewis once some of the rookie status wears off. Yes, he's the QB and a default leader, but as a rookie he still has to earn his stripes a bit before he can really start to say what he wants. And with Smitty having his back, i don't see anyone really in a position to tell him to take is easy.

    • Yes, first drive was a good run, a sack and a 3/13 Bryce threw for 9.  Then we punted. 2nd drive - 23 yard deep pass to XL (who caught it) - Great pass by Bryce and good catch by XL 26 yard Chuba run - Great run by Chuba 3 yard Chuba run - moving the sticks 6 yard pass to XL (who caught it again) - moving the stick 26 yard run by Chuba - love a balanced attack!!! great run 1 yard run from Chuba - moving the sticks Incomplete pass by Bryce.  5 yard TD pass from Bryce. - Good job by Bryce in the red zone. This was a very good series early in the game where Bryce, Chuba and the team played very well. No turnovers by Bryce.  Chuba had a fumble in the 3rd. Next series: 4 yard run 24 yard pass 15 yard run 8 yard pass 1 yard run 2 yard run 3 yard pass 4 yard run 5 yard penalty Field goal good.   Bryce did not have a very good 2nd half but not horrible either.  He didn't make any mistakes that cost us the game.  He had a 24 yard scramble and a TD pass to Moore called back because because of an illegal formation. That was and is positive progress so soon after he was benched.  All around good team win and while Bryce didn't ball out he had a number of good throws and scrambles and didn't turn the ball over.
    • The defense doesn’t even matter, really.  When we are down 3 scores before anyone has taken their first sip of Gatorade because the offense won’t stay in the field, what does any of it matter?
