rivera and the coaching staff cost us this game

The only reason you guys are so pissed off is because the games have been within reach 5 weeks in a row. Yet you're bashing the coaches who have taken this team from the absolute worst in the league, to being within reach of the 2009 and 2010 Superbowl champions.

We would be 0-5 and not even putting up close games with most other coaching staffs.

What the staff has done with this team in 5 weeks is astonishing.

Not possible. We all know the coaching staff is holding Cam back from being 5-0. They have nothing to do with calling the plays that give him wide open targets over and over again.

When you have a team that should be 5-0 and it's something different costing you games every week so you're 1-4, how can it NOT be poor coaching?

Because the only reason you even have the idea that they 'should' be 5-0 is because of good coaching.

let's just ignore the defense farting on the field on that last drive, it totally wasn't their fault at all.

i called it at work. a coworker gave me the update when carolina took the lead. i told him brees was gonna eat up all the time moving down the field, score a td...and carolina would lose.

called it before the season started...the defense is the achilles of the team.

If Fox was the HC and we come up short on the 3 and 2 run the huddle would go crazy with "Fug you Fox for playing not to lose and not to win bla bla bla"

Saints stacked the box and left Smith one on one. Newton made a bad bad pass but it was a good call imo.

On the TO.. Were we not 12 men on the field?

If Harbaugh was our coach, we would have passed on Cam and be talking about how much better Clausen looks with Harbaugh coaching him up.

Because that's basically all that San Francisco has to look forward to.

"Welp, we're going to win the worst division in football, have no shot at Luck, and Alex Smith looks like Trent Dilfer in his prime. What a wonderful time to be a Niners fan!"

Wow this guy knows every decision Harbaugh would have made. How do you know JR wouldn't have had a say so or even that he wouldn't have wanted him? I saw it then and I have been proven exactly right so far, Harbaugh is a damn good coach.

Rivera thought the defense wasn't going to get off the field. Huge mistake yes, but his preperation and gameplan put us in position to win. I've seen this happen several times (not necessarily a timeout but the kicking team getting a break with too many men on the field). I think the D should know FG block formation so they don't have to switch out the teams when time is an issue.

And our offense played great, converting over half of the third downs, and you're ready to pin the loss on one missed third down play?

And whoever keeps saying Chud is calling plays to Nanaae, are you serious? He's not the only option, Cam is throwing it to him.

I didn't know putting your QB in a position to make a big play is a dumb call. 1 on 1 with Smith and he had the guy beat.

Its a dumb call when we have 2 yards to make for a 1st down and a beast at RB when we were already in the lead. Its not the be all end all to Chud but that was a stupid call. Our O is like the exact opposite of Fox ball but with the same results.

Coaching and special teams lost it. The TO was a bad call for sure. I'm in the crowd of, let's give him time to learn coaching, he's new to, but also, we DO need to call him out when he screws up (Rivera). The PAT block? COME ON. That's Busch League.

The rule about being a coach is you get credit for the great things you do and you take the blame for the terrible things that happen. I give Rivera credit so far for Cam Newton looking like possibly the most impressive rookie QB since Peyton Manning. However...When you have that player on your team putting you in position to win every week and you have yet to get it done then you take all the blame for it. I don't want to hear injury excuses with Davis and Beason out. I don't want to hear about having two rookie DTs starting. We're in position to win and Rivera needs to find a way to get it done.
