All this talk about how bad he started and had like a 2.5 ypc, i love how the media just dogs you for sucking but when you pick it up they shut their mouth. DWill is now 4th in the league in ypc, the third RB, with 5.6. Hell even JStew has 4.4 ypc now.

Eye ball test. Williams is simply running better. As he mentioned on his little show.....coaches told him to quit trying to dance around people and focus on splitting the defense. I think that is why his "burst" seems to of returned.......

hate was never at Williams.....just the fact money and talent is invested in the backfield when we are now a passing team.

Some on this very board were convinced that Williams was done, so it was more than just the money.

dwill is still dwill. we still have the best backfield in the nfl. dont crucify the man because he doesnt get the carries that he used to. its on the coaches to call the run when we need it and its up to the dwill and jstew to produce. and im still puttin money on that they will

I don't think anyone said he was done yet....but many have said he has peaked and is on the backside of his career. Those same people said Stewart is now the better RB.

I for one, believe both of those to be true.

I think you're right. I was stunned how different he looked earlier in the season. Stunned, because his preseason runs against the Giants and Bendals he look fine. His "burst" and cutting ability looked fine. But, he just didn't look right at all early and I was really concerned. I thought myself that his best days were behind him. I am one of his biggest fans and I hate that I gave up on him so quickly like that.

CRA personally I don't think YOU or many of the huddlers were hating. I think it was more about the contract and the frustration that it could have been used in other areas. I definately get that. But there is one buster on this site who have been spewing his venom towards DeAngelo ever since Stewart was drafted. If someone was dogging him during his 20td year, they sure as hell will be dogging him now. Whether he signed that contract or not.. I see his ass is nowhere to be found right now.

    • That was when it looked like they decided to run clock, but not all of them realized it was a close catch. That’s honestly on Bryce and JT. they’re both the ones who saw the catch was close and they need to be aware it might get reviewed.  im not sure it would have mattered since it was a booth review but neither the qb or receiver played their part there.  XL just making these works incidentally was just a cherry on the pie.
    • Accepting defeat is not an attribute that’s relevant to a fan. Player maybe, yeah I think they wanna win. but as a fan this product ain’t good enough to be Atlanta from my observations we can’t stop the run, and we can’t score. They run the ball well. And get the ball out quick just not a good match up
    • This.  It seems like the front office is far more interested in coming up with a "find" than fielding a winning team.  As a result, they are getting talked about a good bit - just not the way they want. I still say to take the top draft guides and rank the players 1-275.  Then send in a ball boy, equipment manager or cheerleader to pick the highest player left on the board.  If this was our process, we'd be way ahead on our rebuild. Instead, we get these mystery picks with 31 other GM's/coaches scratching their heads while they do their jobs.  For proof I offer XL, DJ Johnson, Trevin Wallace, Jonatha Mingo, etc. The only "benefit" we get is UDFA's coming in and beating out the mystery picks.
