My First Issue With The Offense

Lol. We are a Coriell Air offense. We're supposed to throw a lot. The question is whether or not Cam's a good fit for it. You need a laser accurate QB to run an offense like this. I'm not sure Cam's a good fit for this style offense because so far his accuracy is suspect.

But yeah we're trying to be a passing team....the question is do we have a QB like Brady, Manning, Rodgers....or do we have a QB more like Vick, Mcnabb, Young, Ben,......

Think about it.

If you are questioning whether Cam is the right QB to run a pass oriented offense, you should seriously get professional help.

And even John Fox, he started The Golden Calf of Bristol today......they won. Got a better record than we do right now. Coaching sucks. All around. No point even mentioning defense and special teams.......

lol

I didn't realize having a bye week equates to a win. Good stuff TRD.

We are the Carolina Chargers, get used to it. An exciting offense that puts up a ton of yardage & big plays, yet can't find the endzone & crumbles in crucial situations.

  • 2 weeks later...

Rivera needs to learn how to call a damn redzone offense, and relegate Chud from most redzone plays.

3rd and 2nd and we're going for a shotgun pass? Really, Chud?

It's frustrating man... I was talking to my friend from back home during the game and told him it's rough because our passing scheme is so awesome and enjoyable to watch, but Chud gets carried away with it... To which he replied that with Fox we wouldn't pass enough...

It seems we went from one extreme to another. I told him that it feels like when we need a score or in the red zone, it's like Chud calls passes when we should run, and runs when we should pass.

We can still be aggressive with the run, it's all in how you do it. He just puts way too much on Cam and it cost us again today. Cam can score from anywhere on the field, but when those windows get tighter, give him some help and make the defense respect some resemblance of offensive balance.

I didn't say much about it until today because I didn't feel there was enough evidence yet... Now there is. How many games this season have we taken the lead in the 2nd half, then our defense finally stops their offense for one drive, and then when we get the ball back Chud goes into full on retard mode?

We get the ball with a chance to put our collective foot on their throat and go up by two scores and we get the worst series of the whole game offensively. It's starting to bother me now... I'm starting to worry that perhaps this offense is at it's best when we're down and can't be counted on when we're up.

This is just really depressing.

Maybe because these guys really don't now how to win. Those who know how to win, win often and consistantly. And, they HATE to lose. I really don't feel the Panthers really play to win. IMO, it seems more like they play not to lose and end up losing anyway.

And I'm sorry but the Panthers defense have to do better than show up every now and then.

As every knows...Offense score points but it's defense who actually win games. Just ask those teams who have won games on FGs alone.

The only silver lining is the anti Sanchez treatment.

They could have a 3 year plan and security from the FO that they have time with this team. They could purposefully abandon the running game to prepare Cam for later in his career when he has to carry an offense in crunch time.

The Jets protected Sanchez so much that he is struggling when the run game gets stopped.

Wow never looked at it this way...damn I wish we could win games

    • Would Morgan or Beason have been HOFers' if injuries hadn't derailed their careers?  I was not a close watcher of the game when Morgan was in his prime but I thought Beason had a few seasons at close to Lukes' level of play.
    • Franchise QBs feast when things are rolling and the tide that raises boats when things are going sideways.  Bryce isn't that. He's a complimentary player, that's it.  When the defense and STs are on point, he plays loose and it shows.  When we are in a dog fight and things haven't gone our way, he struggles.  It's that simple. He's not a horrible QB, but he's not top tier either.  So the question begs, is this worthy of a second contract?  The answer should be no.  It definitely is my answer. Bryce will never be a QB that can produce wins largely on his arm.  That's a FRANCHISE QB, any other QB is simply a placeholder at the starter's position until that guy can be found.   At some point the excuses of lack of weapons will be a straw man.  Heck, it's nearly there now.  I mean if he doesn't look even better than last year will we blame it on the TE position?  'Well if Bryce only had a player like Kelce, Kittle or Gronk on this team...'  Are we really going to do that?
    • When I arrived at college, I was 18, not too much younger than some of these draft picks.  It was not a huge school, but there were guys on the team who were 21, 22, 23....playing ahead of me.  I was seventh on the depth chart.  Those guys have been through a few seasons, were stronger, more knowledgeable.  I was a better raw player than some of them, but those other factors matter.  As I grew stronger, more familiar with the playbook, and learned what it was like to play in college, I gradually improved and with that, I rose up the depth chart.  It took most of my freshman year for the light to come on.  Had the coach thrown me into the starting lineup day 1, I would have probably failed.    And that was college.  So I agree with you based on my experience on a much lower level.  Frankly, I think that is why so many kids drafted to fill huge gaps bust.  The teams are desperate.  Anyone who looks to fill vacancies in the starting lineup through the draft is desperate.  You draft depth to develop.  For this reason, I say, "Let Walker start for a while."  Maybe Brazzell can be our WR 4.  Throw Hunter into a rotation and ask him to do one or two things.  Freeling needs some strength and he needs to work on run blocking.
