Byron Bell is not as good as Otah at all.

We don't need to take an OL in the 1st unless we're on the clock and Matt Kalil is sitting there. We can find a solid RT in free agency who can back up Otah and start if need be. Then re-address the issue based on Otah's health once his contract is up after next season.

We have FAR bigger issues than OL to use a high 1st round pick on a RT.

Where was this when he handled Clay Mathews? Bell had one off game, ya'll act like he's been the starter since the beginning and you're calling for Otah now..Come on...

Exactly what I was typing until I noticed your comment. Just a few days ago it was oh man it's great that Bryon Bell is going to turn into a solid player, today it's oh man this undrafted free agent isn't as good as a first round player. After a good game he's going to be our RT of the future and after a bad game he sucks big time.

More like he had one solid game and today was his true form. Also, if you haven't noticed, Clay Matthews hasn't exactly been tearing it up this season.

Bell was below average in preseason, simply didn't suck against the Packers, and then was manhandled against Atlanta. Is this really the guy you want as our long-term starter at RT? Do you want Cam to get killed or something?

Bell might be good as a backup and solid for an UDFA, but to think he's suddenly going to come in and develop into a starting-caliber RT simply isn't realistic. He's had two starts: one average and one awful. Could he eventually develop into a starter? Sure. But it's not something we can count on happening, IMO.

    • You would hope so. I’m confused why the sports world seems split on Bryce when he’s obviously not working out.
    • So let’s do the reverse? Make everyone agree everything he does is a disaster? I also think the whole “gaslighting” is on the eye of the beholder. It went from he can’t avoid one single sack countered with he actually did that well Sunday (with data backing it) to a little breakdown of why he is so bad. People are going to have different opinions. I’m also not going to pretend this wasn’t happening Day one with this little QB.
    • All this great stuff he has done, how often does he do it?  I have it at three or four games out of 14 where he was very good and then you get a drive here or a series there where there are some good things. Here is the gaslight part: everyone has put him on a curve with his first year the baseline, neglecting to understand how bad he was then. Even if he comes back twice as good, where does that really leave him? 25th ranked or thereabouts.     He had so far to go, and still does, it is a Major ‘settle’ to accept his play as worthy of giving him our future.  You want to settle when the Bucs have Mayfield, and the Saints have overtaken us at QB? We will be third in the division at QB. That is good enough for y’all?
