Let's take a look at the schedule.

vs. MIN

vs. TEN

@ DET

@ IND

@ TB

vs. ATL

@ HOU

vs. TB

@ NO

And the current standings in the NFC

6. Chicago Bears 4-3

7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers 4-3

8. Atlanta Falcons 4-3

9. Washington Redskins 3-4

10. Dallas Cowboys 3-3

11. Seattle Seahawks 2-4

12. Philadelphia Eagles 2-4

13. Carolina Panthers 2-5

If we can win the next two at home we will be 4-5 heading into a brutal road stretch. ATL has a bye next week then the Colts and will likely be 5-3. TB play @NO, who will be out for blood in a revenge game for the defeat the Bucs handed them earlier, and Houston at home and should lose one, putting them at 5-3. Look past this point at you see a road game stretch you'll see 4 division games and winnable non-division games. If the defense can be patch-worked into something field worthy we have the outside lane for the last WC spot. With the way this year is looking, it's likely that the last spot may be had for 9-7 or even 8-8 if the NFC East and North continue to beat each other down.

Or maybe I'm just a homer. Either way it will interesting. Hold on to your butts, things may get wild.

Crazy thing is...our remaining 9 games ARE winnable games. I mean...call me crazy, but it is POSSIBLE (like, .01 percent, IMO) to win all those. None of those teams, I don't feel, are head and shoulders above us except MAYBE Detroit who has played awesome all year. Just saying, folks...believe.

Reality is, I'd be happy with winning at least half our remaining games. Anything outside of that is a pleasant surprise.

DET IND & TB is a brutal road stretch? IND is a bottom 3 team, TB is nothing more than average and has poo the bed in multiple games this year. Detroit is definitely a tough game, though.

Any 3 game road stretch is a brutal road stretch, especially with this defense.

It's possible...wouldn't that would be a classic story if we make it like Seattle!

If we make it in and win at least one playoff game, it'd be the biggest Cinderella story in a LOOOONG time, given the fact we have a new staff and a rookie QB this year. People would talk about it everywhere.

    • 31st rushing D and 8 carries by Rico is coaching.  Rico is easily the best offensive weapon right now and it’s not really close.  *literally everyone knows Dalton is washed, horrible and shouldn’t even be a backup QB.   Drive 1? ZERO carries.  Coaching.  Drive 2 - Rico was playing great.   Did Canales lean into that or go for “balance”? Coaching. Drive 3 - ZERO carries.  Coaching  Drive 4 - 1 carry and opted for Jimmy Horn gadget rush (you can’t stick  with the Horn repetitive gadget runs each week and that’s not a better idea than getting Rico going)  Drive 5 - basically Dalton heavy as the half expired.  I don’t need to watch a game to know it’s coaching.  The gameplan wasn’t about setting Rico up to go off on a trash rush D.  It was bullshit harmony balance of the rush and the pass and making Hubbard feel good.
    • In the locker room after the Dallas game, multiple  players said FEED him when Canales mentioned Rico stats. That already made me think even the locker room wouldn't care if Rico got the touches rn. This is on Canales indeed and I agree n the Qb take.  We aren't winning  bc of Bryce  but he has been managing it. Had the Jets had Qb aptitude,  we could've probably  lost that game too. All they would've needed is 14 points. Regardless, we got a team  that's being built up and that position needs an overhaul.
    • I think he was trying to mimic the Lions with Montgomery and Gibbs. They are just more of the exception to the rule and Brooks was too much of a gamble to be a Gibbs type player. The Lions also didn’t sign Montgomery and draft Gibbs until their offense was nearly set. It was more of a luxury take the offense to the next level type of deal.
