Goodson working his way out of the doghouse?

Never understood the Goody KR benching....only guy we have that looks to have the ability to hit the homerun

Also the only guy we have that can (and has) single-handedly lost a game for us. I got flamed for saying this earlier in the year and last year - if you fumble you don't play in the NFL irregardless of how talented you are.

I get that. I still think he is dangerous enough as a potential KR to be worth the risk though.....last season Goodson just seemed to really look comfortable in the role. Not sure I want him getting reps on offense......

but much like the QB position.....the return spot has been neglected for far too long. Hopefully in year 2 we can add that dimension to this team

I hear you but he has fumbled on returns as well. I don't want him in the game in any respect at this point. I agree, we need to address our return game, but I think they had/have faith in Edwards and possibly Pilares. At some point the Edwards project has to escalate to playing time or cut and run. I for one, would like to see us pick up Dwayne Harris of waiver to help in this area.

In his presser, Rivera said he put absolutely no restrictions on how much time Butler needed.

That tells me he's a human being first, and I'm happy to see that.

I really like this about Rivera. Most coaches would have given the time during the week, but demanded Butler be back or be done. That is the standard line in the NFL & it's refreshing to see a coach who really gets it.

I would love for Butler to be playing today, but that little girl is the most important thing in the world. I'm praying them.

When a guy is out, it gives other guys opportunities to standout (or fail). I hope Stanford or Thomas show that we have some depth out there.

    • 31st rushing D and 8 carries by Rico is coaching.  Rico is easily the best offensive weapon right now and it’s not really close.  *literally everyone knows Dalton is washed, horrible and shouldn’t even be a backup QB.   Drive 1? ZERO carries.  Coaching.  Drive 2 - Rico was playing great.   Did Canales lean into that or go for “balance”? Coaching. Drive 3 - ZERO carries.  Coaching  Drive 4 - 1 carry and opted for Jimmy Horn gadget rush (you can’t stick  with the Horn repetitive gadget runs each week and that’s not a better idea than getting Rico going)  Drive 5 - basically Dalton heavy as the half expired.  I don’t need to watch a game to know it’s coaching.  The gameplan wasn’t about setting Rico up to go off on a trash rush D.  It was bullshit harmony balance of the rush and the pass and making Hubbard feel good.
    • In the locker room after the Dallas game, multiple  players said FEED him when Canales mentioned Rico stats. That already made me think even the locker room wouldn't care if Rico got the touches rn. This is on Canales indeed and I agree n the Qb take.  We aren't winning  bc of Bryce  but he has been managing it. Had the Jets had Qb aptitude,  we could've probably  lost that game too. All they would've needed is 14 points. Regardless, we got a team  that's being built up and that position needs an overhaul.
    • I think he was trying to mimic the Lions with Montgomery and Gibbs. They are just more of the exception to the rule and Brooks was too much of a gamble to be a Gibbs type player. The Lions also didn’t sign Montgomery and draft Gibbs until their offense was nearly set. It was more of a luxury take the offense to the next level type of deal.
