John Fox getting mad

About criticism his staff has gotten for their role in developing The Golden Calf of Bristol. Still think it was really his decision to start him?

"As a coach or decision-maker in an NFL building, you don't care what round they're drafted in, you don't care who drafted them," Fox said. "You don't care if they're short, fat, whatever. You just care: Can they play? So all that other stuff is poppycock.

"The problem is, there's so much misinformation. For people that study it, you'd see that we've probably had more shotgun or spread offense than anybody in the league over the last two weeks. We're up 30% of what we were in the first four games.

"The goofy thing is, it's almost like if he doesn't have success it will be anybody's fault but his. It's almost that kind of polarizing thing. They'll say it could be his supporting cast, or the type of plays. At the end of the day, we are what we are. We're doing everything we can to win, and we're finding out about a young quarterback, good, bad or indifferent."

He must hate The Golden Calf of Bristol about right now. I don't get it dude, I mean obviously Kyle Orton isn't a pro bowl QB or anything, but there is no way that he's not better than The Golden Calf of Bristol at this point. A bad situation indeed for Foxy.

oil and water.

i couldn't think of a worse situation for fox and a worse coach for that situation.

we are not denver broncos fans, though. fox is not our concern. we have fortunately moved on from him and i imagine it's only a matter of time before broncos fans are saying the same thing.

It is true though. John Fox doesn't have the offensive innovation to utilize a player like The Golden Calf of Bristol. He isn't going to be a classic drop back passer.

At this point I don't think The Golden Calf of Bristol is a legit NFL QB but he has certain attributes that could be utilized to at least get them through the year.

    • Last night was the classic example of a visiting team just holding on through the wave of emotion a home team has at the start of a big time game. Bama’s first two kickoff returns really set them back as far as playcalling and allowed OU to dictate field position. The emotion of the home crowd fed into what OU was doing at that point, and it felt like Bama would not be able to overcome that.     Once the kickoff returner was told to fair catch every kick, the game shifted, as Bama wasn’t starting each drive inside their own 15. It was then that Bama was able to make some plays, outscoring OU 34-7 the rest of the way.  I think the last 3/4 of the game proves Bama was the better team. OU was just able to ride the initial wave of emotion to a big lead, but Bama held on just enough.  However, had OU blocked the punt on Bama’s second drive and scored a TD (vice a FG on the ensuing drive), things likely would have been different.  Anyway, Roll Tide!

    • Icky has had a great year. He only struggled last game because he got hurt before halftime.
