As a side note, can we stop with the implied racial bias of doubters when it came to Cam? There were people from all sides that thought he was a scrambling QB only.

To be entirely honest, this is what infuriated a lot of posters (myself included). If somebody liked Dareus or Green, somehow it was because of a racial bias.

It's a shame too that most of the trolls that labeled anything without their opinion to be a racist are still allowed to post while those that got tired of the act and bit back were banned instead :(

Then again this is the same board that would've traded Smith for a 7th rounder at the start of the season and been grateful to get just that sooo I guess I shouldn't be too surprised/disappointed XD

Racial bias is about the race of the player. Not the person making the statement.

In other words an African American can make a racially biased statement about a African American player just as easily as a white person can.

Just because a person is white or black doesn't mean that certain stereotypes don't intrude on their psyche.

I think the ones accused of being racially biased were those who claimed Cam was a thug, dumb, lazy, and or Jamarcus Russell or any other unsuccessful troubled black quarterback. "Some black people didn't like Cam either so NOBODY is racist, derp";)

You can be racially biased and not racist per se. You can't be a racist and like football it's impossible. But you can think that black people are better suited naturally for athletic positions (RB, WR, etc) and white players are more suited for cerebral positions (QB). I'd like to think that our board is above that though.

I'm going to shut up about the racial stuff, it seems like the more I hope it goes away the more it comes up. Frankly, I dislike all stereotypes. The latest NBA champion superstar is a white German, the latest superstar pocket-passing QB is black, the world is normal.

To deny that there was a racial aspect to some or even much of the criticism of Cam is just denying the real world.

Let's face it, the other QBs were preceived to be QBs who ran when necessary but Cam was continually compared to Mike Vick.
