Titans DC: Cam Newton is NFL MVP (I love coachspeak)

Obvious hyperbole and over the top coachspeak. But I enjoy flattery even when I know it isn't true.

Kinda like when someone I haven't seen in a while says "Have you lost weight" And I just smile and say "Maybe." When in reality I have been sitting on the couch eating Twinkies all day and have gained 10 pounds since I last saw them.

Gray had nothing but positive things to say about Newton after he spent the week studying him. Gray praised Newton beyond that of a NFL Rookie of the Year candidate; he referred to Newton as the MVP. According to Gray:

"If you want to win right now, take what he's been doing for four years and let him go win again. And that's why I think he looks like the MVP of this league as a rookie. Because there are not many guys out there that are doing what he's doing right now."

newton would have to win out, get a playoff berth, throw 30 td passes and 20 td runs and have no more turnovers to get the award over aaron rodgers..........

Fixed. Brady isn't even in Rodgers' class this season. And that isn't as much a knock on Brady as it is a compliment to how well Rodgers is playing

Only qb i would trade cam for is rodgers and i wouldnt think twice about it.

I would trade for Rodgers if it were for only this season and then got Cam back. Cam is just a rookie and Aaron Rodgers wasn't Aaron Rodgers as we know him now until after his 3rd season as a starter.

I'm not sure if Cam will ever be as good as Rodgers but I know he is pretty damn good right now and it usually takes 2/3 season before QBs really feel completely comfortable with everything.

    • At this point the Tepper's seem to be leading you around by the nose based on how much time you spend carrying water for them so I'm not surprised you're struggling. We are the only team who saw fit to install Andy Dalton with his zero career playoff wins as a culture cornerstone and a key mentor. Even the putrid Saints wanted no parts of that. Truth hurts 🤷‍♂️
    • They have drafted two QB's since they took Hurts in the 2020 Draft. Tanner McKee(6th - 2023) and Kyle McCord(6th - 2025). In that span we have drafted Bryce Young(1st - 2023) and Matt Corral(3rd - 2022). Technically, we have invested significantly higher draft capital on QB's(albeit one less than they). It's not the investement that is the issue, it's the results. Corral was literally not a rosterable player with a THIRD ROUND PICK. We gave up a king's ransom for Bryce to basically get Davis Mills results(so far).
    • No QB from the draft or free agency was going to change this being a losing season for us. I mean we’re rebuilding, everything we’re doing is meant to be for winning tomorrow.
