Record under GM Marty Hurney by the numbers

for those who thrive on forming opinions without any use of facts..

His deal actually runs through June 2010, though Hurney has always downplayed the need for a long-term deal, saying he'd work here as long as the elder Richardson wanted him.

he confirmed this in a radio interview.. good luck finding the Panthers FO do much more to confirm what has always been kept in house..

A lot of people here spent a lot of time pushing for Fox to be fired, Jake to be benched, the whole team to be blown up, etc, for a lot of years. Now all that has happened(rightfully so) and it's like ya'll didn't realize that meant rebuilding, meaning a losing season or two with a new coach, new scheme and rookie QB. From 2002-2009 Hurney built the team Fox wanted him to build. Now he's rebuilding the offense around Cam. That's not something that happens overnight. If we still look like this next year then the criticism is justified. Right now, it's too early.

If that's the case hopefully he does 'retire' after the last game of the season.

He's the guy Richardson wants. So if he does retire JR is gonna hire somebody similar to him, probably somebody from within the organization. That probably won't make the huddle happy. Then again, the huddle needs somebody to direct irrational hatred toward, so Hurney may as well stay.

I like how bleys used that link to prove what he said when it didn't say what he said.

I like how you always have the most off the wall opinions based in assumption, yet want to criticize me when you can't prove me wrong after he confirmed it on the radio and sources indicate that what I'm saying is true..

This is what I am scared of most. Marty building a team around Cam with a rookie HC. Major failure and major disaster up ahead. Teams do not need to go 2-14 two years in a row to get back to .500. Only badly managed teams do that.

The reason we did good was Fox got to have his way. The reason we started doing bad was Fox stopped getting his way and became too loyal to Jake. But Fox is already almost .500 with The Golden Calf of Bristol in Denver in his first year. Harbaugh has the 49'ers steamrolling up and running with Alex Smith.

Mary is NOT a football expert. He's a former journalist. Who buys into hype and not facts or good coaching philosophies. I never asked to get rid of Fox and Jake. I just said they needed to be split up. I certainly never asked to get rid of vets and go young. Not a good idea. The Pats don't do that. GB doesn't do that.

They build through the draft, but they hang on to their vets until they find the right guys to take over. They don't let them go and they acquire new guys every year. Moss, Ochocinco, etc. They always have a back-up plan.

We always had depth with Fox. With Marty we are broken, destroyed, torn to pieces and since the draft is a lottery and you never know what you're going to get(usually 1-2 good players) I don't see how we're going to fix this team without free agency.

And then you still need someone who can coach, and ask the GM to get him the players he needs to make it all work.
