I always ask to be put completely to sleep, they up my meds and I sleep through it.

Yea - I had one and the prep really is worse than the procedure. My stomach was pretty dodgy the rest of the day but you are 100% the next day.

Which makes me feel a little better. I get to be on a low residue diet until they find out what's wrong with me. He said something about, IBD, Chrons disease and ulcerative colitis. I hope it's neither.

Seriously, My best guess is that that not much is going to happen within a year or less. Any problems or potential problems would be discovered when the procedure was done. At least, that's what Dr Roto Rooter told me.

Probably the worst (funniest) thing is the great need to fart in the recovery room, Don't fight it, let er' rip. You'll never see those people again anyway.

Having an EGD is way worse than a c-scope, the worst part with the c-scope is the prep the night before, after that you're in lala land

Have had two now (price of getting old). Last one found four polyps, two pre-cancerous.

As others have said, the procedure is all pretty much under anesthesia, so it's nothing.

The prep? Oy :(

Don't remember the name of the stuff they give you to drink, but I refer to it as liquis--t.
