Long time no his news,I wish him the best with Texans

:jc:

I know the flames will come rushing in on this one, but if Jake keeps the picks at 2 or less for the remainder of the season, they will win the superbowl. If the "good" jake can perform every week, who can doubt him?

I haven't watched the Texans really at all this season, are they that good? Good enough to beat Baltimore or New England in the AFC and then take on Green Bay or San Fran? With a rookie/old QB? Really?

I just looked at their schedule... they've already lost to NO, Baltimore and Oakland... and the rest of their schedule so far... uhh. The only team of consequence they beat was Pittsburgh.

I can't even tell if this dude's serious:

I would have preferred a QB who at least was taking snaps in actual semi-professional games in something like, oh, I don't know the UFL or something.

When was the last time Jake Delhomme threw a fade route to the back of the end zone and scored a TD on 4th and 3 to win the game? Before we knock the whole "It was the UFL for crying out loud!" it was still a competitive environment where defenders are blitzing the QB and he's got to make a throw under some pressure.

What pressure has Jake Delhomme been in? And if he isn't needed to be an actual QB...if his only role is to hold a clipboard and be a mentor and take TJ Yates out for hot dogs and root beer floats at Weinerschnitzel, where Delhomme uses the salt and pepper shakers to show him how to draft and slingshot past the lead car in a NASCAR race, then why make the guy throw passes in a tryout? Geez, just don't even have a damn tryout at all and say you're hiring a QB Mentor.

Jeff "I'm Not Gay Because I Have a Hot Wife" Garcia was going to win us a Super Bowl, now we're not. LOL. I'm dizzy.

    • There is a Grand Canyon-sized chasm between your opinion and the opinions of most former player hockey guys who do this for a living.
    • I can only imagine the **** eating grins on the committee right now. "Oh, Bama didn't deserve it? Oh, Miami didn't deserve it? Suck it, haters!" lol
    • To say that, is gaslighting, because it isn’t true. I mean, maybe one or two people do that but it isn’t the predominant behavior. Even Frank has given him credit. I think particularly the Rams game. A couple of glowing posts.   I know I have. Gotta be honest about it because if you aren’t it undermines what else you say.  But the degree of how far I go with credit, in terms of it being a projection of future performance? Not very far. Acknowledge it, but require more of it. There is a lot of bad play to offset.    I tried to remain passive while the last 9 games (post ankle injury) played out. It is just really hard when the lows won’t go away. I failed. As high as a couple of those highs were, there isn’t enough.    I know it is premature to just say I want to move on, made my decision after 6 of those games ended up pretty much really good or not good enough, but I have had enough of being patient and letting him show the reality either way.  So in my view, he Could still validate himself to a decent degree if he smokes the last three starts. But also in my view I don’t expect to see it. Maybe one more high quality start, would be my expectation. So yes he could still somehow justify having the job next year. If that happened I still wouldn’t have much faith given the last three years and all that has transpired. Again, there is a lot of bad play to offset.
