no, the point was that if Cam scores the TD, be it passing or rushing, he should get his credit for it, and not just be like "Oh hes a QB so his rushing TDs don't count"...so Cam Newton's stats should show 22 TDs, not just 12 because those were passing....hes very much a duel threat...

Also we use a 2 RB system WITH a QB that can run...so if you look at other backs, we're not that far off...Matt Forte is Chi-town's offense, hes got 3 tds on the year...Jones-Drew has 5...and so on, so besides AP and LeSean McCoy, everyone else has around 6 to 8 tds...and most of those teams don't use a 2 RB system the way we do...so we got 5 from our backs...and 10 from our QB...

wow you wrote all that for no reason...it was said by TRD, you can't count passing and rushing...then went on to say Brees has more then both our RBs and QB, but like, lets say, our QB has more TD's then Tony Romo (romo has 21, ours has 22) but he'd say, you can't count both, and i say why?...thats what i was responding to...so i dont care about your book of situations that change from game to game

The fact is that our QB takes TDs away from our backs. He's not adding rushing TDs to the already scored TDs of our RBs and his already scored passing TDs, he's just substituting them.

4 of his TDs are less than 2 yards. You really think our RBs couldn't get that?

He's got a 4 and a 6 yarder, meh.

Then he's got 14, 16, 11, and 14....all him.

He's added at least 4 by way of ground, but the other 6 you could argue he just substituted for our backs, no real added value.

if you look at ours backs, their pretty average with the rest of the backs in the NFL in terms of TDs, besides AP and McCoy...also its just as easily said that his rushing TDs are taking away from his passing TDs...the fact still remains as a team we have scored more TDs then other teams who have winning records so why is this even a discussion?

Same argument I have been saying for months. Efficiency. This is a part of that. Doesn't matter does it? Points alone aren't as important. Your ability to outscore your opponent does, whether that ends up being 23-17 or 35-30 Scoring ability and efficiency is ultimately what decides which one wins.

When you defense is pooty it makes it incredibly more difficult to outscore your opponents.

For example, even if you wanted to use OYPP to determine offensive efficiency (which you shouldn't do) the 2003 Carolina Panthers were ranked 17th in the NFL in OYPP and should have won the Super Bowl.

And there's one more problem with yards per point. The goal is to pick out teams that are better than raw yardage would otherwise indicate, but what works for the 2001 Patriots doesn't work for that other team from the past few years that won despite unimpressive numbers, the 2003 Panthers. The Panthers were 17th in offensive yards per point (15.7) and 14th in defensive yards per point (15.5).

And our offense has been really, really good despite having some turnovers issues. Nobody has said our offense has been elite. Just that it has done enough to win more games than 3.

Once those turnovers number go down as they inevitably will. Then this offense likely will be elite. Maybe one of the 3 best in the NFL. Until then it is just very good.

But if we had even an average defense we would be enjoying a little bit better record right now. If our defense was elite we would be in playoff contention.

That is an extreme position which is very typical for you. Does Brees take away TDs from his running backs because he throws so many?? Does Williams take away TDs from Stewart?

That kind of thinking assumes all players are alike and there are only a very finite numbers of TDs to be had. While I could agree that within reason there are likely not going to be 20 TDs scored in a game, having a more diverse offense and a QB that can run or throw enhances the other weapons on the team it doesn't limit them. Having running backs who can work in tandem keeps everyone fresh and increases their usefulness.

Making statements that his running ability doesn't add value is really just a sour grapes statement based on your long standing dislike for Newton. It is hard to know if you take these positions to troll the site or you actually believe them. If you are just trolling, then you deserve the banning you get. if you actually believe that kind of logic, you might want to take some stock of your posts here. It really takes away from anything of value you have to contribute and characterizes you as a fringe element to be ignored. If that is how you prefer it, then so be it. But if you really want to be the real deal, then become more credible.
