***STATS UPDATED THROUGH 12/24/11

Didn't include everyone, just the main cast for relevant yards on Offense. We have some pretty decent numbers so far. ;)

Passing

3,893 Cam 20 TD : 16 INT

Rushing

783 Dwill

682 Jstew

674 Cam

*Running back have combined for 1,465 yards for the season so far*

*Cam has so many rushing yards I basically count him as another back. So, Running backs and Cam have combined for 2,139 yards*

Recieving

1,308 Smith

586 LaFell

540 Olsen

467 Naanee

437 Shockey

* Tight Ends have combined for 977 Receiving Yards thus far*

..and if anyone wants to add stats for other players or wants to do the same thing for the defense feel free. I plan on doing one of these things after our last game, should be nice.

It's just funny that you use scoring efficiency to point to why we win a game, yet we lost a game once this year where we were the more efficient team. It takes more than just scoring efficiency to win games.

It also takes some defensive effort, which is why we lost against Detroit but have won the last couple weeks (whether that is really because our D has played better, or the offenses we've played the last two weeks have been abysmally bad, well, that's another thing entirely).

I don't try to use single stats to predict wins and losses, I watch the games. Anyone who watches our games can tell you that calling our defense average is an insult to the majority of the defenses in this league. Our defense is awful. If I wanted to use a small sampling of stats to try to determine the quality of an offense or defense, I'd probably use drive stats, while factoring in field position.

our offense, even when it is more efficient than other team's offenses, doesn't always win because our defense gives up late leads due to injuries, lack of depth, lack of talent... whatever you want to blame it on.

That's my point. Our offense is largely fine. It's been fine all year...

Yeah so basically it's only been good 11 out of 12 times? 92%

Turnovers have been 12-12. 100%

And yards have predicted the right winner how many times?

I must be missing the part where your argument makes a good point.

PS: What would have the Saint's efficiency been without the "free" 3 points...like I said yards per points takes into account everything..even bad coaching.

1) The reason it's "been good" 11/12 teams is that typically the team that scores the most points will have the better YPP... but not always. Weirdly enough, when a team scores the most points in a game, it wins...!!!! who would have thought!?

2) Turnovers have been 12-12 huh? Strange, I didn't know we'd had any tie games!

You're right that YPP takes into account everything, even bad coaching, hence how silly it is to apply it to an offense alone. But we've had this discussion before...

Our offense was largely fine today. It hasn't been largely fine because every game they have been inefficient we have lost. And they have been inefficient.

So wait, what is inefficient? Is it being higher than the league average? Because we were pretty f'ing efficient vs Detroit but we lost. Is it being more efficient than the opposing team? Because we lost a game where that was the case, too.

Our defense seems to be getting better as season goes on but lets face it we been killed on defense with injuries. Wish it wasn't so but" it is what it is" to quote our late coach.

This whole season coulda shoulda been better but it didn't but future looks bright.

I think its called The Cusp and sure hope we there.

Been a fan befor we had a team
