Did we do enough to woo Mario Williams?

We all saw Mario on the sidelines watching his hometown team play with amazing grace and pizazz. Do you guys think we did enough for him to seriously consider joining our team next year if he becomes a free agent?

Stinks of Franchise tag, and for a DE, is big money. Thanks to the likes of CJ and Peppers.

They might have no choice. If they franchise him, no team will trade for him, and he will walk the next year. Unless they sign him long-term, I don't think Mario will be a Texan for much longer. (I have a feeling he will want to go to a 4-3 team)

Put it this way, the smart money is betting on him staying.

Also, I don't know how much he would want to be in a 4-3. He had 5 sacks in 5 games this season before getting hurt. Also, he plays the same position as Demarcus Ware, so there is going to be major opportunities to rush the passer.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a wolfpack guy and I would love to have him, but I just don't think its happening.

We already have "big money" locked into the DE position as it is.

Unless Mario Williams can pack on some pounds and move inside, I don't think defensive end is the position we need to be concentrating and spending big money on in this coming offseason.
