Will you root for the Falcons?

I never thought I'd do it but I want a prime time game next week or at the very least, a competitive, meaningful Week 17 game for us. If the Falcons lose to the Saints, the latter locks up the division and will likely rest their starters like they did against us in '09. By starters, I mean Drew Brees. If you want a prime time game, these are stuff you should be rooting for this week:

- I could be wrong but the Cowboys/Giants aren't eligible to compete again on SNF since they already have done so. But if they are, root for a Cowboys win and a Giants loss.

- Root for the Detroit Lions to win, which would lock them up a playoff spot and make their Week 17 game against Greenbay meaningless for both sides. This would also eliminate Seattle and Arizona and takes San Diego out of postseason contentions. I guess you can also root for a Denver win, which I think locks the division up for them.

- A Bengals loss. This combined with a Giants loss gives the Jets the wildcard considering the Bengals certainly won't beat them in SOS.

- A San Fransisco loss as obviously if we are rooting for a Saints loss, a 49ers loss would at least give them more reason to continue fighting as the #2 seed would still be on the line.

I'm pretty sure that is it, leaving us as the only viable prime time option with the Saints fighting for the division and number two seed and of course, Cameron Newton.

Actually, just checked, we play at 1 PM but could be moved to 4:15. Ah well. No prime time glory for us. But I still want the Falcons to win. I don't want a useless last Panthers game.

:leaving:

As much as I can't stand the Saints, I still hate the Falcons more than probably any team in the NFL other than the Cowboys. That's a big hell no to rooting for the Falcons or Dallas! Sadly I'd rather see the Saints take another title than the Falcons getting one.

    • You're saying the same thing as I said.  Until Jordan becomes an active part of recruiting and funding, this school will continue to fall way behind.  But to say Michael Jordan or the Jordan brand doesn't matter anymore, which is what you said, is flat out wrong.
    • I have not learnt my lesson and will always want Uber athletic profiles. Sorry, Im a whore about it.... Im not the right guy to defend Kenyon, I just have a understanding with this years draft, numbers, and panthers roster. He is more of "upside/project" and we are talking 19th pick here too.  I know about the years of all the mock drafts with TEs in them and I did want Pitts too.... Look I love the current TEs on the roster too, just this guy should be better than any of them at their best.  Right now I feel OT is the correct target, but panthers as a org are trying to win in 2026 than 2027. So tea leaves and all, Kenyon would help this year. You can even say flex him to slot for most of the snaps and think of tmac on smoke routes with Kenyon blocking for him. I just hate BY is the shooter..... warren, I would say he's the better prospect even without his rookie year, *but he was late bloomer like XL if Im right, plus age was 25ish?? Bears picked love above him, mainly cause of recs.  You can make a case that Kenyon is not a TE, but a moving weapon for offense that can be in the backfield, on the LOS, slot, and even X.... imean he's got XLs combine on some numbers.... He would be better to a offense mad scientist type...is that Dave? or is that bevell?? I think the Panthers should have him as a 19 pick, with others...
    • That's one of the best power play games I've seen us have in a while.
