The future for Pickles/Ostrich Boy

No reason to move him while his value is still low. Clausen is no Newton, but I do believe he can be developed into a starting QB in a west coast offense. Clausen has some tools to work with, that's why he was the highest rated QB prospect out of high school years ago. It'll just take some time for him to get comfortable in the pocket and confident in his throws. Sitting on the bench and learning the playbook will be the biggest help for him. If he doesn't progress, what's the loss for holding onto him?

The amount of hate for a guy who wasn't good enough as a rookie to win much is just amazing. What did he ever do wrong, other than look like a first year player who couldn't keep up with the speed of the NFL game?

I think he gets some good playing time in preseason next year, and eventually we deal him for a pick. If he's not good enough, he'll follow in Weinke's footsteps, but without Zod calling for him to start.

as long as he is one of the 3 best qb's on the team then we should keep him since he's cheap & hasn't caused problems within the locker room. clausen might end up as cam's backup at some point although i prefer having a veteran behind cam at this point in his career

Jimmy Clausen will start in the NFL again. It won't be for Carolina, duh, but it will be somewhere. No way Carolina cuts him, they could definitely get something for him. Maybe a 5th if they are lucky. If I'm not mistaken he is on a 4 year contract? He'll probably sit another year on the bench, and in the final year of his contract, get dealt to a QB hungry team.

Hell, he might even be halfway decent. There's no secret he got thrown out there WAAAAAY too soon. This time on the bench might be just what he needs.

yeah. not sure where people got the idea he'd be worth something.

newsflash: the guy is possibly the worst QB on an NFL roster right now.

comes from those who like to think out their analysis on guys instead of blatantly disregarding the reality that players grow and a rookie being shoved in horrible situation most likely isn't the best time to judge a guys career on that one horrible situation..

then again, he could be the worst QB in the league..

YOUR analysis is based on biased assumptions.. so I'm curious what logical fans would actually buy into your weak opinion..

seems to me they are only those who prefer weak opinions over accurate analysis...

There is a clear difference between a player growing and your absolute theory that no one grows...
