If I ran the Jags....

I would go after Chud

I would hate to lose him, but think he is the one coach that could fashion an offense to utilize Gabberts strengths. Getting Blackmon would not hurt either.

I think he is the only coach they could hire which would save them from obvious QB issues.

It'd be very risky for anyone to pick up Chud. There's a lot more to being a head coach than x's and o's. There's proven, experienced coaching talent out there right now and with the recent failures of McDaniels and Morris it looks like a bad idea to get a fresh up and coming guy.

I vote no...Something tells me Chud is not Blaine's only issues.

Some of you are getting carried away or maybe your'e joking.

Chud has been good, really good. The scheme he created has matched Cam's strengths and Cam executed it to perfection.

If Chud leaves I hardly think it will be a big problem. There a many coaches in the NFL who run a vertical style offense or those who have a college background that can have similar success that Chud has had this season.

Cam is not Alex Smith.... the offense will be just fine w/o Chud at the OC. Will I miss him? Yeah cuz not many OC's will have the balls to call a fumblerooski in a close game, away from home.

However he has not been perfect, especially in the second half so he still have lots to improve on.

If I was Chud I would stay as OC because he'll only get much better and his stock will go up. He'll have a whole off-season to work with Cam & the offense, to draw up more effective plays.

Plus Gabbert doesn't fit Chud's style & I don't see the Jags drafting/trading/aquiring a FA QB.

I would hire Jay Gruden. The man did an excellent job in implementing the WCO to a bunch of rookie and second year players. And i would also draft/sign a good quarterback.

Agree. The Jags have stated they are committed to Gabbert. I think he can be successful in a Bill Walsh style WCO. He doesn't stand a chance in the offense Chud prefers.

If they did sign a new QB, which is unlikely given their recent statements, then maybe Chud comes back into play.

    • Question to the posters on this thread because you are knowledgeable--I love watching and pull for the Canes, but I never played so I don't have the understanding I had when I played football then watched it.  Having said that, Do you think we are weak at Center?  I see the team to be pretty strong on the wings, promising defense, and weak at Goalie.  It would be ideal if the Canes had 1 more position to upgrade, not 2.  I don't think you can count on Anderson to play a full season and he is 35.  However, are we solid at Center in your view?
    • Couldn't agree more, Kooch is erratic and Freddy is fragile, maybe save the remaining cap space for a goalie stud at the deadline
    • There is one play that sold me-- it was around 2:38, I think.  It was 4th and 1 and the QB telegraphed and threw the ball out wide to TMac.  He had no blocking (the TE was very late) and four defenders collapsed on TMac behind the LOS. They seemed to know it was coming.  He got hit behind the LOS and battled through several hits to get three yards.  THAT play showed me his fire.
