Why Can't we be friends?

that's all fine and good if you think that the best players in the league are the ones going to the probowl. i don't.

pro-bowl designation is overrated. it's a popularity contest.

that said...what player has broken the # of records that cam did this year as a rookie and as a player?

LT was impressive for sure, but the things required of an LB and the expectations for an LB are quite different than that of a QB.

buuutttt....if you want to nit pick and say that cam is the 2nd best rookie to ever play the game, i can honestly say i have no problem with this. esp. when you consider that "respectable" guys like mayock and many others said that drafting him was a mistake and some blowfish like gabbert was the best QB heading into the draft last year.

I'm too much of a homer not to point out Mayock said if Cam is all about being an entertainer and icon, you pass on him. If you think he's serious about football, no way you pass him up.. (maybe I missed some other quotes)

Don't even compare the two.

We'll see what happens next season.

Since Clausen isn't starting you really can't. And based on this year their numbers outside of TDs were pretty similar. Sad really........

But as for liking Jacksonville, not that you didn't pick Chud, why not.......

The difference between Clausen and Gabbert: Clausen was a second round pick. How many second round picks can you think of, Before Dalton, who excelled as rookies?

Gabbert needs weapons.

Clausen had no OL and rookie WRs + SS. He was ruined, as any 22 year old would be under that kind of scrutiny. THe armchair experts who booed him and screamed insults at him succeeded in undermining their QB. It is kinda like being quiet at the game when your team has the ball. Some get it, others are stupid.

    • Well, as far as backups go, Kyle Allen is actually a decent one.  Better at this point than Dalton probably. That being said, Hooker apparently had an atrocious game against the Texans.
    • i wouldn't say that yet. I also wouldn't say he's done anything that makes me think he's particularly good. i think that's about right for compensation both ways for thielen considering the state of the vikings and Panthers.  The weirdest thing is that technically the panthers should be adding veteran salary cap right now; they have a high cost first overall qb on a rookie contract; that's the best advantage in the NFL in this day and age. It hasn't worked out because, well, the qb they drafted isn't good and they've ignored other parts of the team to try to bolster him.  so what's morgan really supposed to do? Are they tanking with a rookie qb in year three that the owner probably personally wanted drafted? Are they actually trying to win games this year with 80 career catches between their top three receivers? The defense is probably going to be terrible. What kind of jump are people actually expecting from Coker, Bryce, XL, and performance from a rookie to overcome that? It's not realistic.  At the end of the day I don't think Thielen wanted to end his career here and I don't blame him. Minnesota is going to compete this year and Carolina isn't. I also think this is to toss Bryce to the wolves and be done with him one way or another. There's no way this works. This is not a move you make if you're trying to win football games.
    • If he helps them win a super bowl the individual award is irrelevant.
