Pass Rushers - 2nd Round DE

Vinny Curry is projected to have the athletiscm to play either position, but projected better at DE.

The only player I would want more than Vinny Curry in the 2nd round is Chase Minnifield, because he is the best zone corner in this draft.

I agree, though I wouldn't mind Hosley in the 2nd

the more i think about it, the more i approve of the idea of drafting a DE in the second round to compete with hardy/keiser/applewhite for that starting gig. why settle for ok at any spot on the Dline?

i have a new dream that is drafting brockers and picking up garay in FA and then drafting a DE in the 2nd.

then we go after honey badger in the first and baccarri rambo in the 2nd in 2013.

championship.

Please excuse me for expanding this past the second round, but I am interested in some opinions.

What do you think about (I know this one is a bit controversial) Donte Paige-Moss in the 6th round? I see Hardy in him.

What do you see the Panthers doing with Thomas Keiser?

Another name that I like and he could be there in the 5th round is Jake Bequette of Arkansas. He is 6-5, 270 and runs an estimated 4.62 40. He had 9 sacks this season, but sat three games with a hamstring injury.

let keiser do the same thing applewhite and hardy should be doing and compete with the 2nd DE for the starting gig and the remaining roster spots.

if we want to get serious about improving the Dline, then we need to get beyond this idea of looking for value in later rounds.

i think it's fine to look later in the draft, but we really need to quit pissing around and take it seriously. the best candidates are ones you find that early. that doesn't mean you can't find good starters later, it just means you are more likely to find those dominant players you want early in the draft.

i love the DPM in the 6th round. he could start on the pup list like Hogan than be called up. another name who will probabaly shoot up boards off potential is Oilvier Vernon DE from Da U. 6'4 265 athletic as poo, and can play the OLB/DE role.

Great name to bring up. If he is available late, you take a chance on him. To me, that is what good teams do.

agreed, but you don't count on that kind of thing happening as a solution for getting legit starters. that's not what good teams do.

if he's there after we've taken a DE in the 2nd...maybe bring him in and make the compeition stouter.

i just don't really feel like we should be waiting around and hoping for a bargain.

Definitely like the 2nd-4th round DE prospects. Chandler Jones is interesting I hadn't heard of him until reading this thread.

I also like Ingram from South Carolina, Vinny Curry, and Cam Johnson. I also think Whitney Mercilus could be one of those guys thats slips into the 2nd round.

Me neither. I will read up on him. I like Ingram, but he is such a tweener. He will either be a great DE or a good special teamer.

I agree with the op. Watching San Fran, and more specifically the N.Y Giants I think the more players we have to rush the passer the better. We have ignored the line for to long and I i would'nt be opposed to going Dt & De with our first two picks.

As far as you list I would go with Curry. I'm a big fan of guy that produce for multiple years and I don't hold the fact he went to Marshall against him. He has a extremely fast get off, Aldon Smithesque.
