I personally don't feel it'll affect him that much either. But, what issues do you see with Jenkins? You can't think that Dre is a better pure cover corner than Jenkins.

I will say I like the potential of Dre better

I was referring to off the field issues. I do think Jenkins is the better cover corner.

Do you realize that we are an zone blitzing defense? The vast majority of our plays were in zone.

Dre Kirkpatrick is a bumb n run man corner. Yes he has skills to play zone, but that was not his forte. A lot of you have it backwards, and it's a little perplexing to me.

Not too sure that's the case. Dre Kirkpatrick's forte is zone not man. Bump and Run Man might be better suited for him than playing off but still think his skills equate to zone. He seems to lack quickness and agility to stay with receivers in man to man.

He is the same type of prospect as Nnamdi Asomugha whom is a press-man corner. Kirkpatrick did the same thing in college. I am not saying that Kirkpatrick can't play zone, but that is not his strong suit. He is best when he is able to press and redirect his man (because he is so strong for a corner). We play an off-man zone.. which is not what Kirkpatrick excels at. Carolina plays very little press.. he would not fit well here.

Carolina needs quicker than fast CBs. Minnifield and Hosley are both better prospects than Kirkpatrick for our off-zone scheme.

I don't see why he wouldn't excel in off man zone and I am a critic of this dude. He is aggressive, closes quickly and is instinctive when it comes to plays in font of him

He aggressiveness is negated in off-zone because he can not use his physicality as much (which is his strongest attribute). He would be an amazing player in a system that is primarily press-man, like Oakland or Seattle. The Steelers are primarily a zone blitzing scheme but play press man very well.
