The next Drew Carter...

Rivera isn't that high on him, because he struggled a bit in camp.

WTF??? Where do some of you come up with this poo?

DAVID GETTIS UPDATE AFTER EVENING PRACTICE: Unfortunately, David had the MRI, and it looks like he tore the ACL. They are going to go ahead and finish up the evaluation process in about a week once the swelling is all gone and everything like that, so we'll go from there.

On how disappointing it is to lose Gettis, who ranked second on the Panthers with 508 yards receiving on 37 catches as a rookie last season: It's disappointing because the young man really showed. He had a good last few days. He's got a bright future. Whatever it entails, he'll get it right and we'll have him ready to go when he's ready.

On how the injury occurred: It was down in the red zone. He was releasing and he got jammed, and his foot caught and slipped in a bad direction. So it was disappointing. The young man, like I said, was having a really good camp.

Gettis has not been in Rivera's doghouse, unless that is what you call IR. In fact, IIRC, Gettis was listed #2 on the depth chart all the way up until his injury.

hopefully he can get back to full speed, and some seem to forget that Gettis was struggling in in TC that is why LA was brought in to compete and push him and Lafell.

It's not that he was struggling. He wasn't on the field because of a hammy injury.

I always envision Gettis making a Victor Cruz like impact.

he was struggling as well(playbook). plus when speed is your thing, coming off an acl injury is not good in and out of breaks.

    • Don't have to be miss cleo. His weakness are length, athleticism, creating his own shot, defense, finishing at the rim,  Strengths - shooting and IQ.   Likely won't work as non athletic shooters don't typically work.

    • I live in Indiana and took a trip that weekend to watch my two friend's teams play (Chiefs and Vikings) IN Minnesota when they were playing at a college field, I think TCF? Anyways, our plan was to watch the game (noon game) then do some shopping at the Mall of America, I wasn't planning on watching the Panthers play Seattle since I was out sight seeing and walking around after the noon game had ended. By the time we were walking back into the Mall the Panthers were down by 2 scores in the 4th or going into the 4th and we were all thirsty from walking around for 2.5 hours after the Vikings game so we decided to postpone shopping until after we ate. We found this nice little sports bar inside the mall that had the game on. Man, I'm so glad we skipped shopping because that was probably the most excited I've been in some time for a win. Beating Seattle in 2015 felt like the "monkey off the back" sort of feeling and I knew we had finally arrived as a team. The entire bar erupted when Cam hit Olsen for that walk off TD. Literally one of the greatest moments of my life. My friend wasn't so happy though lol, by the time the Panthers game ended ALL of the stores inside the mall had closed and he wasn't able to get any souvenirs. It was his first time watching a Vikings game live and making a trip like that so he was legit upset lol. I on the other hand couldn't have been happier.
