Captain Munnerlyn "sick of" talk Panthers need a corner

I think the lot of you are missing the biggest point: we need to generate consistent pocket pressure, first and foremost. It doesn't matter who you have in the secondary if you can't get to the quarterback.

Rep. Focus on the D Line run with Hogan who would have been drafted higher if not for his inury ala J.Stewart

Yeah totally agree, but at the same time upgrading our secondary wouldn't hurt us...

Between CJ, Hardy, Kesier, Applewhite we have pretty decent ends

We'll see how good Edwards will be for us. And how McClain and Fua progress (hopefully)

Draft a DE round 1 (hopefully trade back and pick up a 3rd during which we can draft an OLB), draft a DT round 2, CB or S in 4 and 5 (one who can also return) and go LB and OL in 6 or 7

totally agreed. that's why i and others are wanting us to go DT with the first pick. well...that and the fact that our run defense sucked and we need more help up front against that.

that said, we still need another CB brought in.

if capt, butler, and hogan can show to be improved with help from wilks and we add someone like jenkins or chase minnfield or some other decent CB in the draft then good...when we go to dime packages or go with one or two down linemen and a 3 man rush all outlets for the QB will be gone. the more we can do to help the pass defense, the better.

what player wouldn't say that? doesn't make it any less true, though. we need help at CB.

he's got a chip on his shoulder? good. show it on the field. we should still be looking at improving the quality that we have.

He had this same 'chip' on his shoulder when they brought in Butler.

    • I think Bryce balls out again and the Panthers win in a close one.  Panthers will have a defender shadow CMC the whole game so I expect he'll be contained to under 100 yards.
    • yeah, Steve was basically like on any actual topic that approached his flaws/problems.....89 went with the long winded, try to sound like a wise man strategy of just basically just pleading the 5th (and sprinkling in the idea that others could of been wrong or wrong too).   also, in terms of the assaults and stuff like that....it feels like old 89, I feel has sort of forgotten his well-documented confessions and apologies about that aspect and era of his and was trying to re-write his story/image in hindsight.   And in all honesty, it seemed like a PR move on the twitter/cheating stuff also attempting to play himself as not the bad guy some think with the intentional vague suggestions. and the Pivot and all these athlete moves to basically take the reigns and power from traditional outlets exposes they have just as bad as flaws if not more often than the traditional media folks.  I mean I do like the free form long talk when dudes are telling stories but all this stuff is largely flawed and controlled PR often.
    • Sadly, I agree and I’m a huge Melo fan. Might be time to ship him out. Don’t want to make the same mistakes the Pels did. They should’ve gotten rid of Zion two years ago.
