If Peppers doesnt sign prior to DRAFT..

we will never know just WHAT we have already missed by tagging Peppers, not to mention what we are going to miss.

but you just keep defying logic and saying we did the right thing. Somebody might even believe you.

You are the one defying logic. Did Hurney sound fearful in his press conference? What great moves would we have made in free agency. You obviously don't believe what everyone is saying. Look at the folks who are saying we have no pressing needs, the FA pool is weak this year and so on. We are not missing out on anything. I am saying what all of us know except you.

Don't try to paint me as someone out on the lunatic fringe. Gantt reserved that spot for you. You are the guy trying to sell a load of goods that no one is buying. I am just repeating conventional wisdom being expounding by all those supposedly in the know.

Look around Crolls, you are the one out there by yourself.

start a poll..

in reference to tagging peppers do you

A)think it may have been a mistake

B)still agree that it was right thing to do

I am not by myself. Plenty of fans see the logic in letting him walk. And unlike you I don't need the security blanket of what "folks are saying" about the pool of FA, and that we have no pressing needs to make me feel better about being in the popular click.

believe that if you want to 55. To me it's pure foolishness.

Anyone ignorant enough to see everything going on now and since we tagged Peppers and saying that they are still glad we did so is most likely lying.

We're fine.

We don't need anything.

We would have been laughed at.

There aren't any opportunities out there anyway.

lmao

Look CRolls, the fact of the matter is tagging Peppers was the RIGHT thing to do. Why? No one in free agency worth the inflated money. If we tag him and he plays, we get our star DE back on our already solid team. If he won't play we can let the bidding begin and take what we can get. If all else fails we can still lift the tag and let him go. Why wouldn't you take that risk? Ignorance?

like i said in another one of the other thousand peppers threads...

carolina has no intention of dealing peppers to another team.

peppers has no intention of signing a long term deal with anyone...unless that deal is something outragous that he would be a fool to pass up.

(in other words, he and his agent think he's worth more than he really is.)

peppers will probably have his best season ever in 2009...as a panther. he's setting himself up for an uncapped season, or a huge contract next season. this isn't about playing in a 3-4 defense. it's about money. period.

as for the draft, a first round pick is overrated. there really isn't much of a drop off in talent in the first 3-4 rounds. in fact, look for the later round draftees to have the same or even more of an impact than the first round picks.

the panthers have for the most part, locked up the 12-4 starting squad from last season. outside of the WR position (which they will draft first by the way), no draftee from this year is capable of starting over any of the starters on the current roster.

the only real need that carolina has is to build dept. they don't have to fill any positions.

you think it is an option to go through all of this and then lift the tag?

just becasue there is not an advertised free agent out there that everyone on the board wants does not mean that you can afford to ride out the off season with your hands tied.

If we get our asking price of two first rounders I will be ecstatic. If not this abysmal failure is in Marty's lap.

Count the posts in favor of your position versus those against. We don't need a poll, Crolls. It is you against the rest. Don Quixote fighting against windmills. The overwhelming opinion is we did the right thing. You and your disgruntled group of malcontents are the only ones who would let him walk.

You are never in the majority. You like being on the outside looking in throwing rocks.

Out in left field as usual. Hows the view from there?????

I think carolinarolls is Carl Carey!!!!

Been saying that for months. I've never heard any (supposed) fan of a football team go to such great lengths to defend a player like crolls does with Pep. It's unbeleivable. He will go on hour-long diatribes on how it's wrong what we've done to Peppers and how we'll regret it and all this. It's fascinating to watch though. Like a car wreck..

Peppers never mistreated the Panthers, I guess you can beg to differ how they are treating him by pulling power moves with the guy. I feel bad for him and people act like Peppers is a monster for not wanting to stick with a team he doesn't have confidence in any longer.

outside lookng in?

throwing rocks?

you think I wanna be a mindless sheep like you?

are you proud of yourself because you are "inside"?

what the fvck are you talking about 55?

I guess that is your clever little way to mask cowardice while telling me you are afraid of the poll....OK, fine.

you aren't the only one who is scared. I've requested it twice from mods who shall remain nameless and the first request was very shortly after the tag was placed.

    • Another layer to that is Ive seen Seattle has been in the market for CB help this off-season.   Michael had a higher PFF grade than Horn who got 15 games this season. He wants to be here too, that's a huge bonus for any 5 win team that had awful pass rush.  The 7th rounder Michael Barrett didn't last long on Seattle, he was cut before the season I think and ended up on browns PS. He's already been on 5.......5 teams within one year.......
    • You have gave the board some recent gold via posting. Heres my poor attempt at the truthful play-by-play of the time during post- I pulled out the old laptop to do my shitposting and check on websites. Open the huddle and see this new thread. Open thread and read CRAs post, {inner thinking, oooOOooo this is my lane and I got this}. Make sure not to scroll even to the 2nd post. 23% of current neurons still firing start up and two names appear- Captain and Josh....... about another 43 seconds past "O GOD" it's July 4th weekend and I got medicine to pick up. (If the laptop didn't give away my aging, the meds should...) I need to split, think long panther careers and the hint-  Ryan Kalil was a late 2nd and Pro bowls(even all-pros too) he's got to be OLman and Mikie Minter is among the all-time Panthers career leaders. Drop my post. Scramble to get keys, wallet, and phone. Check my phone- its 17% battery.....fug I now have to raw dog the pickup line and put the phone on charge.... Flip flops, sweat ringed filled hat, and shades acquired. Get in my pos rav4 and think about not running the A/C. Pull out the drive way and reach the 1st stop light, A/C is wide open. I check my shirt to see if there's any new stains on my house shirt, bush off the Bojangles salt that I see.... Neurons re-fire and focus on the comments CRA made that no one would get this....... Dang IT, that means it isn't Ryan Kalil or Mike Minter! CVS is close, but I know its impossible I get back withing 10 minutes to change my post and my phone is on the charger. {Think you monkey, at one point you were a draft nerd}. Reach the CVS line, by some grace its not 5 cars deep during 5 o'clock traffic hell. Im second in line after the car in front of me both turn in, they have to go back and forth to line up while Im a pro for that geometry. Neurons finally reach peak performance as Ive re-thought draft classes. Think obscure and unknown 7th rounders with long careers. Some Sunday/Monday night member berry fell out of my Melon, Will montgomery during the players intros for washington. I thought he out of the league and was shocked to see him still playing around the 2015 years. I do a goggle background check and that refreshed memory. Pick up the meds and enjoy the sweet smelling cool CVS air. Driving back and check in on one of the local bums at the big stop light, wow he's got a new fancy rug. Think about all the old food I got and need to start giving it away and rethink it. Reach home and post a follow up and I know Minter is wrong too, I check the draft history and see Robert Mcclain. Too late, but that would have been my guess....open CRAs link and get "upset" at the DBs name.
    • THANKS my guy! Keeping up with this threads theme, if I view a thread and there's only 20 posts and some time passes. If I see there's one new post and read the name; @Dave Gettleman's Shortsis among the chosen few that I will reopen that thread just to see what you posted.    Thanks again, plus not just a scout, thats scotty mccloughans son?!?!? If not for the deep claws of booze, scotty is among the best talent finders this league has recently had. Last I heard he ran a consulting business. Caden could be one of those who's on a early path to being a GM in the future. I was a big fan of his dad, dam shame about booze demon ruining his career.
