Here is the update of NFL draft world mock draft

link to entire draft http://nfl-draft-world.com/

Not a fan of Brockers pick but would be happy to get Stephon Gilmore in the 2nd round.

Pick 9

Carolina Panthers

Offense Rank 7: Passing rank 13, Rushing rank 3

Defense Rank 27: Passing rank 24, Rushing rank 25

Team needs: WR CB S DT OLB

Cam Newton has taken the league by storm and has single handily brought the Panthers back from the dead. Carolina has several pressing needs and could go a number of ways with this pick, so they decide to take the best player available.

Michael Brockers is a tremendous talent that can play anywhere on the defensive line. He has the ability to play defensive end but is best suited as a pass rushing defensive tackle.

With the 9th pick the Carolina Panthers select:

Michael Brockers, LSU, DE/DT

Pick 40

Carolina Panthers

Offense Rank 7: Passing rank 13, Rushing rank 3

Defense Rank 27: Passing rank 24, Rushing rank 25

Team needs: WR CB S DT OLB

With so many needs, the Panthers go with the best player available. The Panthers secondary last year will be used as a “what not to do” when playing defense.

With the 40th pick the Carolina Panthers select:

Stephon Gilmore, CB, South Carolina

re: your mock, i see a lot of the same things happening. in fact i have a lot of the same picks in a mock i did a couple weeks back.

until reports came out about blount's laziness i wasn't sold on the idea of the bucs taking richardson. i had them taking claiborne because, well, they have no CBs. barber is retiring and talib is going to be in jail. 50/50, imo. i actually hope they take richardson rather than claiborne. they might run on us, but they won't have anything to stop the pass attack we'll have going.

i have coples going the seahawks. ingram didn't make it in mine, but that was before the senior bowl. i still like coples there more than ingram.

i think the cowboys go ahead and take kirkpatrick. jerrah don't care about such things. never has.

kuechly to the eagles just makes too much sense to me.

i had the bears going with jenkins. interior linemen was a bigger need but i don't like any of the options at that spot. i actually don't like interior linemen in the first round at all. (but i did have cincy picking up decastro with their 17th).

i think the browns will go ahead and get a WR with that 2nd pick of theirs. i gave them sanu.

i don't see dennard in the 1st round. too many people saw him at the senior bowl. the interior OL is a much bigger concern for the lions. i gave them konz.

i can see denver going after poe and beefing up their Dline.

over all a pretty good mock.

I don't think getting him will be very hard at 8-9.
after the combine it will.

he's someone that the combine will really help since there isn't a whole lot of tape on him.

one thing i expect is that devon still (really brocker's only competition for #1 DT in the draft) won't go to the combine or will at least be limited and do a pro day so he doesn't have to be compared with brockers so closely.

he'll use the same excuse/reason he used to get out of the senior bowl. recvering from injury.

    • It’ll be extremely hard to bring an elite coach into this dumpster fire, not to mention having to deal with the Teppers.  So yeah, fix the QB problem and then deal with coaching if need be.
    • Somebody get the Jim Mora gif ready in 3….2…1…. For those of you who care, the path to the playoffs is really clear cut and Sundays game against the Rams nor Tampas games against the cupcakes they have remaining factor in really at all.    In all likelihood the only way the Panthers are playing in the second week of January is if they win the division.  The loss to the niners did a lot of damage to any wildcard hopes they may have.   The formula to win the division is pretty simple. After the bye week, if Carolina wins their final four games (at NO, vs Tampa, vs Seattle, and at Tampa) they are NFC South Champs. In that scenario, they finish 10-7 and the Bucs best possible finish would be 10-7 as well. The Panthers would win a tiebreaker with a 5-1 division record.    Ironically, the late season bye comes at a perfect time. Get healthy and try and win four in a row.    With Canales outsmarting himself at every turn and Bryce putting up QB numbers not seen since leather helmets were worn, the thought of winning four in a row seems almost impossible, but, we at least go into December in the hunt.
    • They are definitely out there condemning Canales and absolving Young.  Which, condemn Canales if you want but then leave Young responsibility free? Nah, that is just Bryce fanning.
