I have TWC because it is the best, plus I can bundle other services they provide. I have had Dish and DirecTV, but But, TWC is the big bully on the block regards to cable-satellite tv prices. But the NFL, specifically the NFLN, is a big, blood sucking leech that charges way too much for its programming as well. MNF used to be on national network TV, and now they want me to pay for football on Thursday nights. I guess it will be one less game that I will see. Other than that, life stays the same. Just like the national championship suffered this year from a decrease in viewership, ultimately the NFL will "suffer" by showing more games on Thursday.

If by suffer, you mean continue to rake in crazy carriage fees for the NFLN, then yes, they will suffer. Btw, Time Warner Cable will most likely end up adding the channel. Being the only big hold out left has left them with little leverage.

Charter went through the same deal TWC is still in now....basically, the NFL is very proud of their network and demand crazy amounts for a channel that has a limited window of true relevance for the average NFL fan (expanded now with the additional games)...Charter hammered the deal out last year just in time for the 2011 season start....with the additional games announced, I expect to see TWC getting their deal done in time for regular season 2012.

Honestly, the games are good when I give a poo about one of the teams, but the real gem is Red Zone....best invention ever.

Love the Redzone Channel, but if you want anything besides the occasional NFL update or show on ESPN or what have you you'll be left wanting a channel like NFL Network. The depth of the coverage and access is night and day what anyone else provides. The 8 and now 15 Thursday night games is the icing on the cake.

All Providers be they Satellite or Cable bombard our TVs with crap we would never consider watching and they think is worth paying for.

Every major provider besides TWC seems to think the NFL Network is worth providing to their customers. I left TWC (then Century Cable here) the week they dropped NFL Network years ago. Will not go back.

At least TWC should offer NFL N to their customers on one of their BS tiers, charge extra, but offer it.

I hear you and I think the NFLN has some great programming, I wasn't clear about that.....My "average" fan remark was meant to reflect the fact that most viewers aren't going to be as invested in the game at the extent that is "average" around here. :D

My brother (in law) is a manager at TWC, and he says that for TWC it's a matter of principle. From what I understand, the NFL is trying to force the NFLN on all the tiers, thereby making everyone's bill go up, as opposed to just having it offered in an optional package for those that choose to pay for it. This dispute has been going on for years now. It's not like TWC needs the NFLN, or vice versa. Basically they are just two big, arrogant bullies fighting over money, but in the end, TWC has a right to run their business as they see fit. Both behemoths will have to compromise.

What happened to the old days when all the games were on major network TV? I bet the NFL would have an epiphany if they'd do an end-around the cable companies and provide more programming on network TV.
