I want to formally congratulate the Carolina Panthers organization for this. The support and belief they put behind Cam so quickly last year was historic. JR, Hurney, Morrison, Rivera and the coaches are truly pioneers. Theyve gone all in and shown the world what you can do when you nurture and rally behind a unique talent at QB like Cam. I used to blast this team for years about being behind the curve. Now we're leading the way. I mean this is cutting edge stuff we're doing here. Teams from this point are gonna be looking at the blueprint we set this season when they draft an RG3 or a Luck or whatever QB prospect. Im very proud of all of us the ownership, the team, the coaches, the fanbase. And of course proud of our leader and QB #1 Cam Newton, 2011 ROOKIE OF THE YEAR!!!!

Dalton didn't play in a complicated offense nor was he that great particularly at the end of the year against tough teams. It was pretty clear that the defense and team around him helped him win games. He was a good player but not great. Cam on the other hand did things no one else has ever done as a rookie. Honestly without his effort we would have had trouble winning more than a few games. And with a better defensive effort we should have won 2 or 3 more games.
