If they tag him it will cost 14 million. If they sign him long-term it will average 16-18 million. I am sure the guaranteed money and the length of contract are the issues. It can't be just money because next year they need to pay him 20% than this year or 17 million if they tag him again. The year after that 21 million and so forth. So to piss him off over what will be less than 5 million seems like a short sighted view. The fans would go ballistic if they didn't resign him.
