The Draft process is upon us and looking at our rivals i see us ahead of the game.

Atlanta - Made all in gamble with Julio Jones trade and ignored their trenches. Oline and dline are aging or ineffective. Turner the Burner is BURNT OUT. Matty Ice has hit his ceiling. The Falcant's are not playoff contenders next year.

Nola - Also made a gamble with Mark Ingram. Defense has been found wanting. Roman Harper is garbage. Colston and Meachem are likely gonna take a payday elsewhere. Lastly there linebacker group made our's look like all pros. Brees is old. The window is closing. Soon the Taints will be cellar dwellers again.

Tampa - This is what happens when a young team gets too much success, too quick. The Succaneers regressed big time. Guys not working hard in the offseason. Blount and Talib seeing police more than position coaches. Not only that the steadying hand of veterans like Ronde Barber and Earnest Graham will soon be off the wheel. Add inexperience new coaching staff and we are headed for a full blown meltdown.

Then there is no reason to play those games.

Might as well hand us the lombardi, while you are at it.

I get what you are saying....but you sure are writing off a lot.

While it's still the off season.

Before free agency.

Before the draft.

Before even one division game.

You sir are not on Cam's level.

Granted the Panthers are a team on the rise and they could win the division but to back that up with statements like Drew Brees is old after coming off one of the best QB performances in the history of the NFL last year is ridiculous.

And Michael Turner is BURNT OUT? That has been said around here for 3 years now and if 1300+ yds and 11 TDS with a 4.5 YPC avg is burnt out then I will take a burnt out RB any day of the week. He has shown nothing to give reason to think that he is burnt out yet.

Should have made the title of the thread "NFCS can be ours". That would be realistic with some better reasoning behind it and the better reasoning is because what the Panthers have the potential to be not because the competition is slipping...Being optimistic and excited about where this team is headed is one thing but don't be blind to the talent of the other teams in the NFCS. If this were all true than the NFCS would be one of the worst conferences in the league and that is far from the truth.

I know just feeling confident. In free agency the Falcons and Saints are close to the cap and have very little wiggle room. The Buccs on the other hand have tons of room but is not a destination i see many FA wanting to go to. Then there is the draft. The Falcons don't pick till 55 and the Saints 59th. Their 3rd's may as well be 4th's. Don't see the draft helping them fill holes. The Buccs will likely have the best FA and draft but big question marks at coaching. As far as division games we will see.

How much wiggle room do you think we have? The Saints can have a lot of room depending on if they take care of their players or not, similar with Falcons. We dont have a playoff caliber defense and the offense has this habit of falling asleep in the third quarter. Until proven otherwise, we are not better than they are yet. I do however feel we can change things this upcoming season and be in it towards the end fighting for a playoff spot.

    • Ha-ha, I bet that went through everyone's mind.  Admittedly I don't read all the comments in a thread before I make a post. Great minds think alike!
    • Cam was hitting his stride as a QB in 2017/2018.     This is why I think stats like completion percentage are overrated. As long as a QB is clutch and makes the throws to win the game the rest doesn’t really matter. What good is a check down stat padder if they’re a choker.  Until Norv Turner (and briefly Chud) got here we put Cam in high pressure throwing situations all the time. We also ran the ball on first down more than most teams in the NFL in the Ron era. Coupled with shitty WRs, all that is expressed in his stats. I also assume Cam took the ball in his hands on many occasions rather than trust Funchess to catch the ball.    It was also never Cams job to play the game like someone else. His presence on the field dictated the game in a way that is rarely seen.  He showed he could play the dink and dunk game just before TJ Watt. That didn’t suddenly make him better than his earlier seasons. He just got put in a legit under center  passing game again for first time since his rookie year with Chud.    Ron took the quickest path to success and abused the RPO because his ass was about to get fired.    Cam never got the credit for being the cerebral player that he was. I just think when you are legitimately a human Superman, sometimes the best play is having the ball in your hands. He was a better passer than Delhomme was.
    • I don't think Canales has any problem benching Bryce or moving on if Bryce doesn't come out playing like the end of last year.  It's year 3 no more excuses for Bryce
