if UNC players never made it, none of them would ever get drafted. the fact so few "transition well" is why people "hate" (using language from earlier posts) them. obviously some have done it, the question is if they are the exception to the rule. all I know is that 12 in 30 years is pretty awful.

wtf is the abc consortium? hate and envy? what the hell are you talking about? not all of us care about your rivalries or whatever, many of us just see that unc isn't known for producing guys that transition well.

also calm the fug down, lol. sorry someone poo on your school, no need to take it so personally

the argument could be said, and made about any school. Little Carolina, Clemson, NCSU, ECU, etc.

there are plenty more UNC guys that played in the NFL than 12 in 30 years, hell 3 dozen or so have SB rings for chrissakes

Last year the school had more draftees than any other in the country

My responses were off the top of my head and merely a shot at the poster who calls himself Fiz who constantly posts inane garbage presented as some sort of fact. This thread did not need the peanut gallery to pipe up and dissect the list of examples I gave. That is of course if I consider the peanut gallery to be objective, which I don't.

nothing to do with it. argument for or against Coples or any other individual matters not. If I am not allowed to respond to a blanket statement the way that I did without it getting picked apart and responded to by more than one poster who is seemingly defending his ridiculous remark, I can't really label the responders objective can I?

I am assuming that a case can be made for drafting almost anyone, and quite frankly every team prob. needs players at almost every position. I enjoy reading about prospects, and reading the info that everyone posts on here. Regardless if I share the same point or not, I trust that the staff and FO staff will do what they think is best to improve the team. I think that drafting Decastro makes our team better, and I think that at #9 he is the best player available... but we do need defense. If we go defense I hope it is Brockers or Dre Kirkpatrick.

i don't think there could be a more underwhelming and frivolous pick to make than David DeCastro at 9, with some of the glaring holes we have at other positions. Interior line is not something that requires superstar players to be able to contend, and we kind of already have a superstar guy in there that we got at the bottom of the 2nd round (Kalil) anyway.

the only way you draft DeCastro in the top ten is if your team is already complete and you somehow have ended up selecting in the top 10 through a prior trade. Even the Patriots don't have the benefit of that even if they picked top ten off a superbowl berth, because their defense is porous
