Is T-Rich Really Better Than LaMichael James?

Recommended Posts

Prince James? is too small to be an every down back like MJD, but is definitely able to be a top quality scat back. If Stew wasn't so great blocking and catching I'd like to get James, but it would be an unnecessary pick.

Yes.

Ever since Trent came in as a freshman at Bama, I knew he was going to be something great. He always looked like a more complete back than Ingram that was just waiting his turn. He has power and pretty good speed. He plays a lot of J Stew. LaMichael is really good speed wise but he will get beaten up more than Trent. Trent can withstand the pounding more.

A freak incident, but that dislocated elbow was scary to see. And didn't something happen on the play before where they would have scored and the play never would have taken place. I vaguely remember watching it and something like that occurring.

LMJ just like Chris Rainey are not only short but also small, they will get injured easily in the NFL.

That's what I have said about Rainey as well. I love his elusiveness and ability to juke but I believe he'll get beat up. He runs sideways a lot to avoid contact. He is not like Sproles who is more compactly built.

Jamaal Charles, who is widely considered an elite NFL back, is right around the same size as James. Ray Rice is similar too, but has an extra 15 pounds. As is MJD, but MJD's also extremely stocky.

I see what you're all saying, but he seems like he's far too talented to just be a third down pass catching back. That highlight reel had me creaming my pantz.

Maybe he can be converted to slot receiver? Or is that unrealistic? I'm no expert in that whole deal.

is this serious? like honestly? You have GOT to be kidding me. I have been mind blown. Richardson is by far the best running back to come out in a long time. Adrian Peterson is the only guy in the same class as him. Maybe Chris Johnson. Dude is fast and can carry the whole defensive line on his back. He can bench like 600 pounds.

Enuff said right here.

    • Malcom Spence is the best player remaining, hope he’s there.
    • The era that you played in, and, more importantly, who you played with actually matters. Honestly, that's why these issues will be debated forever, as it's just difficult to say that this person or that person is better when you're discussing the passage of time. As for me, after Rice, Moss and maybe Megatron and T.O., there's probably a dozen or so guys that can be argued about to the cows come home. Personally, I'm not putting Fitz, Harrison, Johnson, Evans, or especially D-Hop, Jefferson, Chase or Hill definitely in front of Smitty (and Colston ain't even in the discussion). Context and all that stuff actually matters. Things like the triple crown matter.
    • Some of those guys? Yeah honestly you can.  I would 100% take Steve Smith over Larry Fitzgerald, Harrison, even Mike Evans. He is 100% a better player than those guys in his prime. If you look at the numbers Smith is historically under targeted in comparison to his contemporaries. He was only targeted 150 times or more only once in his career. Fitzgerald for example was targeted well above that 9 different seasons. Had Smith played with Peyton, Brady, Greatest Show on Turf, or even with Warner in Arizona he would broken records. His 2008 season was ridiculous accumulating 1400 yards in 13 games on less than 80 receptions. All time he also lost a season due to injury in 04, barely played WR as a rookie. Got robbed of 1k season with Clausen. Thats easily another 1800yds minimum that should have been tacked on to his #s. The only guys I’d say for certain are better than Smith are Rice, Moss, TO, Megatron, Julio Jones, Antonio Brown.
