Answer: Hell no. his performance in college in a bad conference was inconsistent and unspectacular. No DT in this draft is worth the #9 pick because there are too many questions about each.

If they did not televise the combine or publish the results, he would be a second rounder in most minds. Keep in mind that any NFL news in February is sensationalized by the media. It was fun to see him run a 4.98 and 44 reps is awesome, but should he not have DOMINATED at Memphis with these mad skills? Did not happen.

Be prepared to be attacked because you dare question the measurables.

Been saying for weeks...Claiborne, Coples or trade down. IMO those are the only two players in this draft who can come in and immediately contribute to the defense. If the staff really thinks that we MUST HAVE an OT to replace Gross then stay at #9 and draft Reiff but if those two defenders are gone then don't stay at #9 and draft a workout warrior. Really don't think that Hurney will do that...we typically draft on production, not combine numbers.

So...Claiborne, Coples, Reiff (possibly if we can't trade down), or trade down. That's what we'll do.

Quinton Coples will add more strength to couple (derp) with his height, speed, and athleticism, making him a dangerous pass rusher. Or that should be the plan anyway. In the top ten you need to try and get an athletic freak who can be molded into a dominant player. Coples is our best bet at 9 imo, but I strongly doubt he will be there.

    • Best birthday present ever!
    • People were discussing the new backup QB in comparison the the starter.  Neither has anything close to a cannon.  Video was posted of them throwing.  If people can’t be free to express their opinions without being put on a list of posters who have ruined this place we have a bad situation here. People trying to silence  criticism of the QB.    Maybe actually post about the other players instead of about the other posters. That is where it went off the rails.
    • That's true and we're definitely going to hear more about it as summer progresses. But at the end of the day all of the progress we've made on the roster as a whole will only matter if our passing offense can emerge from the basement of the NFL. In 2023 it was 32 out of 32 in 2024 it was 30th out of 32 and last year it was 26th out of 32. And early in the season we relied heavily on a career year from Rico Dowdle who is no longer on the roster. This is only reinforced by the fact that we (depending on how one views it) effectively took playcalling out of Dave Canales hands and brought in another offensive mind. The elephant in the room isn't going anywhere no matter how much we may not like it.
