declawing a cat

It is a major surgery. They have to take the entire last bone out of the paws. Cats claws aren't like our finger nails. It's a horrible practice that has terrible psychological effects on the animals. You might actually have trouble finding a vet that will perform the procedure as most of them refuse to do it these days. You need to find a scratching object that your cat will use and they will stop using your furniture.

Imagine someone cutting your finger tips off to the first knuckle because that's what they do to the cat when they're declawed. Cats walk on that portion of their paws too. Some vets will no longer do the surgery any more.

I have a cat that has never clawed the furniture. We provide things that belong to him to claw up when he needs to. If you don't get you cat anything else, get him a Sisal scratching post. Its the one that has rope wrapped around it instead of carpet. But if you want to do something he'll really like, get him one if those cat towers.

Cats have to scratch and stretch on something so you might as well provide something for them. Also trimming their nails once every two weeks will cut down on them needing to scratch.

if the concern is defending themselves, then don't remove at all. no matter where they are, who is around [even if no one], they always hiss and scratch and claw. if they could say one thing, it would be, "don't kill me don't kill me don't kill me."

    • I think i like the Oregon Safety better
    • Do you see the vision?  As of now our Carolina Panthers don’t have an identity. We are not an offensive powerhouse and on defense we only started getting it together towards the end of the year last year. In my opinion we are much closer to having an incredible defense that scares the daylights out of people. I say the answer is simple and we fully commit to that possible identity.    Emmanuel McNeil Warren (E man)  This guy is like a shark lurking around ready to attack anyone. Fearless. He is easily a top 20 talent in my eyes, and the only reason he isn’t more talked about is because he’s from Toledo. Do your due diligence as panther fans and watch his tape I beg you. Once you’re done watching let me ask you this, if you dropped E - Man into the strong safety spot on the Buckeyes, he isn’t being talked about as one of the best prospects we’ve seen in some time given the skill set you see with this guy? I think so. Put his name on the card and turn it in at 19.    Jacob Rodriguez  High effort, High energy, High IQ guy that flies around the field. We all know Jacob at this point. My only concern is he’s a little bit too good and I’m not sure he makes it to us at our pick in the second. With the additions of Jacob and E- Man I think our defense goes to top 5 in the league. We would have a duo of linebackers that rival anything we’ve had in our past. I’m not a GM so I don’t know what the possible answer could be, but if there’s a way we can comfortably trade up in the second to secure this guy I think we find a way to do it.    Spend the rest of our picks fixing the O - line.    Thoughts Panthers fans? Who’s the ideal duo for yall?
