I am one of the few, who actually trust Hurney.

But this one has me scratching my head.

He would be a beast in the triple option we run.

This does pretty much guarantee Goodson's eventual exit.

I don't know why would would use more cap room for this though. If we are 25 mil under the cap, then I might could handle it. But this... is really freaking weird.

I don't see how we keep all three. Maybe we are thinking we are going to revolutionize the league with a new offense.

If you look at it from a logical standpoint, hard for most homers here to do, it would seem that for the Panthers to be shopping for a RB, that their plans are to make room for him. Would that mean that someone has already inquired as to the availability of Stewart and the Panthers have a deal in place already?

I just don't get why people are so up in arms about this. If you are one of them, why haven't you been b!tching about Goodson being on the roster?

It is also amazing that people talk about cap space or taking someone to dinner like it was their money. When will fans learn that cap space can be manipulated many, many different ways to free up space.

I would assume they aren't going after anyone else on the defensive side of the ball right now because they don't like the options that are out there. Certainly everyone realizes that they want this guy because RR and Chud like him and they think he can be a plus for the team. So why complain about Hurney? Don't like it... take it out on Rivera or Chud.

Very possible.

Anything less than a second would be dumb IMO. We could prob get a third by letting him walk as a FA I.e. Peppers.

Maybe Cincy's or Clevelands 2nd first round pick. Anyone thinking that it is going to be a top 15 pick needs to quit smoking. Who ever trades for him has to turn around and sign him to big money.

I wouldn't rule out a D-will trade. His contract is very manageable after this season.

A scat back shows the ability to catch the ball out of the backfield, that is one thing that Tolbert does. He is not a pure scat back but he is a hybrid back that has scat back characteristic.

Yeah but Tolbert can run between the tackles on a consistent basis. Catching the ball out of the backfield doesn't automatically characterize you as a scat back. By that reasoning Stewart is a scat back. He is not a pure scatback or scatback at all for that matter.

This offense is special because of all the miss matches it creates. Our FB isn't the typical NFL fullback. I imagine we can use Tolbert to do things that Brockel can't.(Blocking, catching. ball carrier vision). With him in the backfield he at least attracts attention away from our other play makers, leaving them the chance to make a play. Just think of him as another weapon to our monster offense.. We will have a play-maker with the opportunity to make a big play every snap.

When Rivera said scat-back, it doesnt have to be a small quick guy. Its just a guy who has unique abilities, Tolbert could run the ball and not even be a HB. Stewart is safe because these guys will be asked to do two seperate things. So so i doubt Tolbert could be replacing Stewart. But whatever, just the way i see it.

    • To kick this up, The Athletic has a really comprehensive piece out where pretty much all QB questions are addressed. It is worth seeing.  https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7083539/2026/03/04/starting-quarterback-projections-free-agency-draft/?source=user_shared_article I’m putting something specific here but it should have a thread or something. It is an extensive exercise.  This is a dense write up with a lot of column inches used, about the Jets and Murray and Reich, all this stuff.. then it goes to backup QB and there is Dalton.  I am pasting that part: As for Dalton, Reich is installing the offense he was trying to run in Carolina in 2023 before he got fired, and Dalton was with the Panthers then; he’s an ideal option as a veteran backup to replace Taylor. Reich said this about Dalton in 2023: “The way he's throwing the football, the way he works through progressions, the way he handles the operation. … Since day one (when) he walked in the door, I'm like, 'This guy is starter-worthy.' You guys know I've said that all along. He's, in my opinion, one of the best 32 quarterbacks in the world.” ——— That’s true love lol. I never heard any of this. Pretty crazy I think, considering how the year went.   Anyway the dream is not dead. .
    • The Seahawks traded for wide receiver/returner Rashid Shaheed at the trade deadline. He proved to be a key acquisition. Shaheed returned a punt and a kickoff for touchdowns in the regular season and had a 95-yard kickoff return in the postseason. Shaheed, though, is scheduled for free agency. So, the 12 games he played, including the postseason, might be the extent of his time in Seattle. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Shaheed and the Seahawks are not close to an extension, and the expectation is that the two-time Pro Bowler will hit free agency. Shaheed has 153 receptions for 2,243 yards and 12 touchdowns in his four-year career to go along with three punt return touchdowns and a kickoff return touchdown. He ranks 13th on PFT’s top-100 free agents. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/report-rashid-shaheed-appears-headed-to-free-agency
