Te Coby Fleener In The Second?

What do you guys think of the TE out of Stanford?

If you watched any Standford games this or last season, you know how much of a beast he is. Catches pretty much everything that comes his way.

Had a good pro day too. At 6-6, 247, he ran an average of 4.47 (Between Mayock & McShay's watches).

He has the perfect size and speed to make more than enough match up problems, and would fit perfectly in Chud's 2 TE sets.

Some say he won't even make it down to our spot in the 2nd, but if he does, do you take him? I'm in favor of it, even though we need defense.

It's hard to pass up on tall, athletic, proven TEs.

I think Fleener will be a good TE in the league, but we cant use a top pick on a TE. We have too many positions that we don't have starting level talent. Since this team can't afford/refuses to get starter through FA, we have to get a starter with our first 2 picks.

Yeah I like Fleener but as D-Run said we have too many needs on defense and we already have a great offense.

I think he will be a first rounder, but if he is there in the second the team should think about it he could be a BPA type of pick like Ryan Kalil was.

Personally like Charles the best but that's partly due to me seeing him more. He fits our offense really well.

That being said can't see us drafting a TE that early.

I've actually been thinking for a couple weeks we might pull the trigger on Fleener if he there in the 2nd. Seems like a luxury pick, but Chud loves to utilize TE's and having two weapons like Fleener and Olsen to go along with our other weapons would terrify defensive coordinators. Rather go defense in the 2nd though.

Before a TE we need a DT, DE, CB, LB, OG, OLB, ILB, FS, WR.

If we want a TE, I'd rather draft a project late. He could be solid, but we could also find a solid DE/DT/OLB/CB in the 2nd who will have more impact.

Best D is a good O as they say. Still I have a hard time thinking we use a 2nd and 3rd on TE's (our 3rd went to Olsen).

If he is available at our pick in the 2nd that would be stunning. It really is a luxury pick, adding a weapon to an offense that's projected to be one of the best. I like his size and speed, he really could be an amazing pickup.

However I don't think he will be there. Plenty of teams between 9th and 40th picks could use a guy like him. How about an Andrew Luck reunion in Indy?

I'm 50/50 on it. If he's there I think you take him because he could be a star for the next 10 years. To do that you would need to ignore all of our deficiencies on defense for another season.
