The Saints Know That Vilma Is fuged

I can't wait til the season starts and our defense is completely shored up. I want to beat the living piss out of the Saints and the Falcons everytime we play them this year. I hate those mf's, and after they embarrassed us last year, I can't wait to return the favor.

Brees right now counts 15 million or so against the cap because of the franchise tag. If they resign him long term, they are going to either get real creative with his contract or cut people before he signs.

Either way the saints are screwed

lol I don't claim to know anything about the salary cap, but how the hell are they going to re-sign Brees

He counts 16 million against the cap, they don't want him to have a long term deal with more then 19 million in the first 3 seasons.

They cut Vilma and they can resign Bree's no problem what so ever as long as he's making less then 19 million this upcoming season.

remember the faclons signed marquee free agent lofa tatupu so they should be solid on D this year

Meh, Lofton was the only defensive starter we lost. He wanted more than we could afford, it's the nature of the beast. I'm more concerned with our lack of a pass rush from our front four and the fact our high priced CB, has not been used properly since he was signed.

At least Julio may be worth what was given up...unlike that fetal alcohol syndrome mother effer the Saints* traded up for. Not that we can really talk poo on trading up... *cough* Otah, **cough cough** Everette Brown, *cough* Armanti.

Ok, I was civil for a second. Now that I got that out of the way, go fug yourself Falcon fan. You know why I watch The Walking Dead? It's because it portrays Atlanta as it really is: a wasteland of rotting flesh and dead dreams.

Anyone have a good source of the Aints current cap situation?

They should be in cap hell with what they are going to owe Breesus.

They didn't even get the Cowboy/Redskin cap bonus either.

They're doing some weird contract structuring, like Brodrick Bunkley signed a 5 yr. $25million contract yet I read somewhere it only counts $1.5 toward the cap in 2012.

    • Best birthday present ever!
    • People were discussing the new backup QB in comparison the the starter.  Neither has anything close to a cannon.  Video was posted of them throwing.  If people can’t be free to express their opinions without being put on a list of posters who have ruined this place we have a bad situation here. People trying to silence  criticism of the QB.    Maybe actually post about the other players instead of about the other posters. That is where it went off the rails.
    • That's true and we're definitely going to hear more about it as summer progresses. But at the end of the day all of the progress we've made on the roster as a whole will only matter if our passing offense can emerge from the basement of the NFL. In 2023 it was 32 out of 32 in 2024 it was 30th out of 32 and last year it was 26th out of 32. And early in the season we relied heavily on a career year from Rico Dowdle who is no longer on the roster. This is only reinforced by the fact that we (depending on how one views it) effectively took playcalling out of Dave Canales hands and brought in another offensive mind. The elephant in the room isn't going anywhere no matter how much we may not like it.
