Clausen To Throw At Nd Pro Day

When WR prospect Michael Floyd works out at the Notre Dame pro day, the football will be launched by a familiar arm — that of former Notre Dame QB Jimmy Clausen.

Floyd is expected to be one of the top receivers taken in the draft this April. He’s got a lot of upside. He’s big and fast, and he’s caught a lot of passes. He was suspended in 2011 after being charged with a DUI, but otherwise he’s what you want in a receiver: he’s big and tall and he’s got really good hands. He should be taken somewhere between No. 10 and No. 17 in the first round.

According to the South Bend Tribune, 16 of Floyd’s 37 touchdown passes were the result of a connection between Clausen and Floyd.

Clausen was selected by the Panthers in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He made 10 starts in the 2010 season, throwing for 1,558 yards and three touchdowns while having nine passes picked off. He did not attempt a pass in 2011.

    • It's crazy with how much winning was going on when we had a little cool off period that we're still just a couple games out of 6th. Moussa is getting better every week and Coby is getting comfortable. Would be nice to get to 6 but I think this team is a lot more stacked than the last couple play ins. I can't remember the exact rules but if you're 7th seed and win the first game I think you automatically move on and don't have to play the second game?
    • I think it was a thing for sure. Panthers weren’t too many people’s first choice. Or 5th choice.  2022 and 2023… coaches fired mid season. Consecutive years. You want any of that?  He has definitely overseen a rehab of how the Panthers are perceived. Because we are a place that is seen as up and coming. And just the little thing of he accommodated Theilen so graciously, that gets noticed. It all adds up. Dan is doing a lot of things right, probably most things.  Needs a good draft.
    • K, I think that is dumb, but you do you. I didn't find anything online that made him out to be a dislikable person. I am certain the Panthers would have cared so much if they lost your fandom if they hired Sean Payton. But bet you would have come crawling back if Sean lead us to a Super Bowl victory or Golden leads UNC to a champion ship. It is easy to say you are gonna leave a team if the hire someone you dislike when the chips are down. But people like you tend to come crawling back once the team finds success.
