Your Top 5 Songwriters Of All Time (And Their Best Song)

Ok, it is really easy to put Lennon/McCartney, Paul Simon or Bob Dylan up there. And they have fantastic lyrics to their names. But I rarely listen to a song for its lyrics; I'm a beat/tune kind of guy - so my list is going to be kind of different than the popular picks.

5. Ric Ocasek (The Cars)

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame basically inducts anyone and their mother...hell Madonna, queen of pop music is in it. Now, I'm not saying she is undeserving, but how in the #$%! are The Cars not? Ben Orr and Ric Ocasek were incredible together, and they have so many hits to their name:

Favorite Song:

4. Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull)

A weird guy/a great flutist/and a great songwriter. Another band somehow not in the Hall, I think he should be here for his uniqueness.

Favorite Song:

Really? tell that to Rush, Joe Cocker, Kiss, Judas Priest, Deep Purple, Iron Maiden, Alice Cooper, Dire Straits, Warren Zevon, Steppenwolf.... none of them are in....

Anybodyhome, you are right and I failed to clarify. They let anybody in that is popular and deserving in the eyes of what is obviously a short-sighted council. When I say anybody, I mean noone is ineligible for the Hall. Hell, I could nail Hotel California at karaoke and be eligible.

    • Ehhhh except a lot of it was his refusal in college not to play hero ball.....  The two things he greatly improved at the NFL level were his accuracy on the run and learning he didn't have to take the deep shot every play.   That said when taking a massive boom or bust athlete at QB the most important thing is their work ethic/coachability/desire to improve

    • The new (released today) FOX ONE app will allow you access to watch your Local FOX Station - similar to how the Paramount Plus app allows you access to watch your local CBS station It'll cost you $20/month for the privilege, but if you're having trouble accessing the over-the-air antenna for FOX, this could be an option to consider the new ESPN app will give you access to ESPN content, but not to the local ABC affiliate. A reminder: if you currently get ESPN via some TV provider (cable, satellite, youtube, etc) then you should be able to use the new ESPN app via your provider login, no additional payment required
