Per NFL.com

Here are each respective team's beat writer's pick according to their best prognostications. So far, rounds 1-16 are included. Despite the fact that many of you may have disdain for the Job that Joe Person is doing, his pick is included. Take it for what it's worth. They do kinda make sense, but even though the writers supposedly have the inside scoop, you never know. You can see the vids here.

  2. Redskins........................Robert Griffin III (QB, Baylor)
  3. Vikings............................Matt Kalil (OT, USC)
  4. Browns...........................Justin Blackmon (WR, Oklahoma State)
  5. Bucs................................Morris Claiborne (CB, LSU)
  6. Rams..............................Trent Richardson (RB, Alabama)
  7. Jaguars...........................Melvin Ingram (DE, South Carolina)
  8. Dolphins.........................Quinton Coples (DE, UNC)
  9. Panthers.........................Michael Brockers (DT, LSU)
  10. Bills.................................Jonathan Martin (OT, Stanford)

I could live with brockers but I'd rather have cox at this point, it all depends on if you want a better pass rusher or a better run stopper

Agreed. I prefer the run stopper myself. I think McClain and Neblett will develop into sufficient pass rushers at DT, especially with a beast like Brockers commanding double teams beside them. I can't say the same thing about Fua as a run stopper and the other other run stopper we have is just a short term solution.

I really think that there will be so many trades in the first round, especially in the top 16, that mocks are silly.

Person was on NFL Network last night predicting Coples, Poe, or Gilmore at #9. He does not understand Marty Hurney, Hurney will get good value and a safe first rounder, one that is unlikely to bust.

He also seems to miss the fact that we are looking to trade back so some of the guys who are visiting, like a Worthy, are for that reason.

I'm starting to lean this way too, we need to get more physical and stronger inside. I likes neblett at 3-tech and he was a good pass rusher, McClain cam develop into a good rotational guy. I'm liking brockers to stack the LOS and keep o-lineman off our backers

    • Exactly He's played two seasons and started 28 games. He's well beyond the point of being able to point to 2 or 3 games and being able to say, "THAT is the QB he is and will be in the future" Of course he can get there, but anyone trying to use just those couple of games to rank his place amongst the games QB's today and their full career's worth of playing at that level, is just asinine. Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow, Hurts, Herbert, Daniels, Stafford, Goff, Geno, Purdy, Baker, Love, Dak, Tua, Kyler, Lawrence That's 17 QB's right there that have played better over their careers than Bryce has played at his best.  And I'm not saying they're all studs or guys I'd want to be our QB moving forward, Tua for example I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole, but his body of work is a million times better than Bryce's has been. It's also not including any of the other QB's drafted in 2023/2024 other than Daniels. So again, say you believe in Bryce, say you think he's going to prove he can and should be our QB of the future, that's all fair and totally fine. But nobody can say he's been an above average QB in his career thus far, it's just an asinine notion.
    • I'd think we could get one of those from Dallas for... whatever.
