Coples sits down with Charlie Campbell and discuss's the week leading up to the draft.

Coples also took and extended visit to the Panthers. Carolina could use help at defensive tackle and defensive end, so it could select Coples and draw on a deep class of tackles to land a quality interior lineman in the second round. In reflecting on his trip to the Panthers, Coples sounded very upbeat.

"It was great. It was definitely a lot of fun and there are a lot of great people over there. They definitely showed me a great time. I had fun with them. They showed me their defensive ends and their scheme. We went over some board work and had a great time. "

Coples could help fill needs for the Panthers at defensive end or tackle, and apparently they aren't the only team that feels that way. As a junior, Coples played a lot of defensive tackle, and he could add some more weight to play tackle in a 4-3 defense in the NFL. Coples said teams have discussed that with him.

He recently clarified that in his first interview with the dumbest analyst in major NFL media he meant he graded his performance as a C, not his effort. Plus, he was obviously nervous in that interview (or is just an extremely simple minded guy, another check on the list of Peppers comparisons). I can appreciate a guy that can honestly evaluate himself and isn't afraid to say it. If he HAD admitted to not giving 100%, that'd make me a little nervous about him but apparently that wasn't the case.

The fact that he admitted he was playing not to get hurt. That was just to get drafted. He may be good on a rookie contract. But if he gets a pay day what makes anyone think he won't go back to that attitude.

Considering the big contract will be the second one, he has millions of reasons not to take off plays.

That why I said after he signs his second contract. If I wasnt clear I expect him to play well on his first contract, but to be uninterested after he gets a big payday

I'm getting kind of sick of the Coples/Peppers comparison. I think people only use that one because they both went to UNC.

I wonder if Carolina has asked him about DT and would think of permanently moving him there.

If he bulked up, he could easily play DT.
