Two guaranteed starters................excellence. We have many needs but at least we didn't waste them on tweeners and headcases, we are not good enough to do that yet nor do we have a "got nothing to lose" attitude. Headway in our roster is what we needed. We are no longer G by committee, RT if needed, and an abundance of talent at the LB spot. We grabbed a guy that can play any of our three LB positions for when our next LB goes down. Give me Joe Adams and we improved all three phases of our game with all draft picks intact for next year.

Re-posted from another thread...

I gave it an A. Without reservation.

Look, I didn't have either of these guys as "my picks", nor did I really want to go LB in 1 and O-line in 2. But I have no doubt that we got 2 very good players. Frankly, both should be eventual pro-bowlers. And yes, they were at positions of need. Add in Olsen and we made the most of those 3 picks.

It would seem petty to knock quality selections just because they weren't the ones I wanted.

We still have significant holes, just like a lot of other teams, and I expect Marty and Ron to bust their butts to somehow improve our roster to the extent possible, but I am really confident about the 2 guys we picked.

    • Taking only players from the sheet that are realistically available in or after the listed round, I’d like… 1st: DT Caleb Banks (Styles not realistic) 2nd: LB Jacob Rodriguez 3rd: OT Best available from Bowry, Barber, and Casey 4th: CB Daylen Everette 5th: S Jalen Huskey 6th: RB Adam Randall 7th: IOL Best available from Lemieux, Dawkins, Leausa, and Brose   I know nothing about some of the players listed, but it seems like that would be the best way it could fall for now. I’m sure the list of who we meet will change a ton, and there will also be players we don’t meet with to keep quiet. I’d love to pick up Randall in the late rounds.
    • Not what I said. They know within the building why we aren't utilizing TEs more. If the rumors were true that we were seriously pursuing a couple of decent receiving TEs that strongly points toward a lack of quality receiving TEs currently on the roster. Does that mean we consider drafting one at 19? I don't know, but it wouldn't shock me and if we did there's only one guy it would be. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see TE drafting somewhere in the first three rounds.
    • Yeah, I don’t know. Tepper was behind the Bryce selection. Behind firings and hiring over his lack of development.  He doesn’t have to literally tell them their hands are tied for them to know this. It is in the air constantly. The Canales Bryce play calling was even portrayed by more than one person as Canales failing Bryce, instead of Bryce being responsible for his own performance (except when he does well, then it is all him). Now they have an extra coach in, to help the new OC get results from this QB.  The atmosphere is not welcoming to prototypical young QBs that have talent. You get Jake Plummer types or old vets. I think we are stuck.
