What The "experts" Are Saying About Our Draft

There is almost always comparable players. And BPA subjective as hell anyway.

Lets say you have a team stacked with great LB's and nothing really at DT.

Prospect A LB - ranked 23rd on your big board

Prospect B DT - ranked 26th on your big board.

You take player B.

You have to draft off a combination of talent and need. You cant ignore either aspect.

Teams will skew their boards around areas of need especially in the first round. I doubt they had any QBs on their early round draft board.

Experts like it because the Panthers picked winners in almost every round.

Not flashy at all (last year was) and I think that shows how well Rivera and Hurney adapt to new situations. Last year they made a huge splash, but this year was much smoother and consistently good.

I personally loved the move to pick 103 and 104 in the 4th round. Not really high on the Alexandre kid from OK, but loved the Adams pick. Getting DE depth was there at value so they took it. I have no problem with that.

The more I read about the Kuechly pick, the more I realize that this could help our run d more in the long run than a flashy DL pick. After all it was the inability of the LBs the shut down the run on the right edge that really hurt us (and in pass coverage). This could allow us to put Beason on that side and sure up that edge. Although fua and McClain struggled at times to shed blockers and/or get pressure on the QB, they were not our biggest liability against the run. Our decimated LB core was just not up to it.

I think Armanti had his shot and he's just played out.

I don't get why the experts don't grade the PREVIOUS years draft picks. Seems a bit silly to do the current crop.

If they did that they would be forced to admit that they were way off when they originally graded the teams. Kiper did that and changed our grade form a C+ to an A-

Alexander looked explosive as hell on his highlight tape. Granted, it was a highlight tape but the dude looks quick.

Keiser was a great pick up for us. He's a hungry player with something to prove.
