What Is Hollywood Thinking?

That sequels to bad movies will be better?

This Summer we get the "Over the Hill Gang" in the "Expendables 2!"

Now Hollywood is looking to make "Dukes of Hazard 2?"

There are so many good books out there that could be made into good movies, instead we keep getting fed the SOS!

I'd almost rather see Snake Plisskin escape from Tuscon before these 2 movies. If you dont know who Snake Plisskin is, that's just sad.

Our definition of bad is different than the definition used by studios. "Bad" for them is any film that doesn't make money. A film that makes money, in this age of media, will get a sequel no matter what. It's why there was a string of those awful "_____ Movie" parodies awhile back.

Dukes of Hazzard being rebooted?

(CBS News) "Observe and Report" director and HBO's "Eastbound and Down" co-creator Jody Hill are reportedly writing and attached to direct an untitled action film set in the American South for Warner Bros. that some are speculating is a "Dukes of Hazzard" reboot.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the story is set in the 1970s South and involves an outlaw duo.

"The Dukes of Hazzard" was originally a CBS TV show that aired from 1979-1985 starring Tom Wopat and John Schneider. The series was turned into a movie in 2005 starring Seann William Scott and Johnny Knoxville.

Billy Gerber, who produced the 2005 film, is also attached to produce with Hill.

Good.

If you want great acting and great stories in your movies, follow the independent movie scene, THAT is where the really amazing movies are. Clooney's "The Descendants" or the movie "Take Shelter" are recent examples. There are still great movies being made, just not always at the theater.

Not to mention a lot of movies aren't made for people in the US anymore. It's a worldwide thing now, and a lot of times they can make more overseas. So that is taken into account. Example is Avengers, being released overseas first.

    • since I agree with him I will jump in and say we don’t use the TE enough to value one as a 1st. One of these threads just today people are posting pointing out that Bryce can’t see the middle of the field which is where a lot of TE eat. He likes to throw picks there too, I wonder why (can’t see). It just doesn’t help us that much.  And personally, just my opinion, Bryce has had enough top level investment dedicated to the pass game. Get a speedy WR later? I am fine with it and think that is all we really need anyway. Another 1st round pick? Hell no if I get to say. Which I don’t but no one else does either    As far as a TE, a pass catching RB would be of more use than a TE I think. We visited with one I think maybe Sr Bowl, that was a WR in school u til just this year when they switched him to RB full time. A guy like that could be put to a lot of use on these little 5 yard passes Bryce is so fond of throwing,  It is just past time to put some real talent into the defense for once and I want our top picks to focus there, personally. I would say unless we have a situation like last year where the difference in pure value is stark, I am pissed if we pass on a quality defensive player for another pass catcher.
