Robin Gibb has died at the age of 62.

Here is the announcement posted on his website:

The family of Robin Gibb, of the Bee Gees, announce with great sadness that Robin passed away today following his long battle with cancer and intestinal surgery. The family have asked that their privacy is respected at this very difficult time.

The Bee Gees singer had advanced colorectal cancer and slipped into a coma in April after contracting pneumonia. He woke from that coma within days, surprising his doctors. At the time, spokesman Doug Wright said Gibb was able to nod and communicate with his family.

I'm sure he lived a pleasant life. 62 years and most of them rich. You really can't ask for anymore than that.

His wiki says he was a vegan and teetotaler. Cancer doesn't care if you are responsible or not with your health.

Adam Yauch was also a vegan.

Wow Robin and Maurice sure got the poo end of the stick in one way - not only were they pretty unattractive guys, their brother Barry looked like a rock god, and outlived them both. Oh well being a rich pop star cures all ills.

I always liked the BeeGees and am one of those people who felt that got mislabeled as disco guys - they had a long successful career before SNF, which was really just another job for them that turned into a monster.

    • One thing I didn’t consider is how thin this draft is at quarterback. That’s going to drive up the market for backups and borderline starters like Willis, Jones, and Jameis Winston. Because of that, we’ll most likely be priced out of the market for this tier of backup.
    • We've already beat the #1 seed twice, why not one more? (Packers and Rams were both #1 seed at the time we played)
    • My determination has come down to this. Based on recent QB history, has Bryce's improvement warranted 50m per season? Lamar is the only original team QB to play on his 5th year. The others took major deals at the end of the 3rd, before or just after the option was signed. Chances are, we're getting asked for the same.  I haven't rooted for Bryce to fail. I've rooted for him to succeed so big that them signing that extension would give me no worries about our future at QB at all. We haven't seen that level of play consistently that this year. We haven't seen it in the past 6 games.  We're about to be at a threshold with Bryce and I worry about what this front office will do. We have a history of bad decision making and Morgan has been part of that group making those decisions. I don't want Carolina in the same boat Arizona and Miami are right now. It has nothing to with being right. It has to do with wanting to win for more than a single season. We've never had back to back winning seasons. Faith in their abilities is not warranted at this point.
