Kavell Conner! I bet you didn't see that one coming. The 2010 seventh-round pick led the league with 13 run tackles for a loss. He made his average run tackle after a gain of just 2.1 yards, more than a yard closer than any other Colts linebacker. Mathias Kiwanuka was second with 12 run tackles for loss, and Charles Johnson of Carolina was third with 11.

It also lists CJ as one of the players with the highest percentage of defeats given their playing time. Defeats include the following:

1) causes a turnover

2) causes a loss of yardage

3) stops conversion on third or fourth down

He is a good defensive end with a great motor, hopefully Frank Alexander and Greg Hardy can pull up the slack on the other side and make our defensive end's relevant in the NFL again.

I would mention our defensive tackle's but I would prefer to see how they have progressed (hopefully) before giving them any credit whatsoever.

Week 17 showed us how valuable CJ is. We had absolutely no pass rush without him and I still worry about us not taking a DE in the 1st or 2nd. Hopefully Alexander can develop into a great DE like CJ to work in rotation with Hardy.

I think his game flys under the radar due to a lack of supporting cast. That said, I am reAlly worried about the inability to generate a pass rush. I think this is a pivital year for Hardy and don't expect dramatic production from Alexander. So I'd Hardy does not step up then we might have a weak spot up front.

We need someone in the middle for him to take up the double teams, if we can get someone to do that. He could easily get 12 sacks.

CJ is an awesome player. People on this board give him a hard time for for 8 sacks, which is still good, but if you watch the games you know that he is great and does so many different things very well. I'm glad we have him for several more years.

In other news Kavell Connor was a great pick by the Colts in the sixth. I watched the Colts and Bucs game last year and Connor just dominated.

By the way, I didn't watch it because I was bored. Connor was also on my fantasy team (yes, I play in an offensive and defensive fantasy league).

Rivera expects McClain, Kearse, and Fua to step up and with the return of Edwards we should be significantly better. Don't get on the Panthers just yet. At least wait til five games in the season lol.
