What do you really need from a smartphone though? If you just want to call and text then get an old flip phone. But for everything else bigger is better assuming it will still fit in your pocket.

but my iphone barely fits in my pocket.

<luvs skinny jeans like every male iphone user

phone

email

surfing

games/movies/crap

in that order. but for me, portability and battery life are premium in a mobile device, large screen hurts those two things significantly and really only makes a noticeable improvement for games/movies. i don't need or want my phone to be a tv or laptop.

Mine gets great battery life. Charge every couple of days or so unless I'm using it a lot.

I guess portability can be an issue but, for me at least, the skinniness makes up for the w/h.

Unless you're Jase of course.

Can you talk on the iphone and surf the net at the same time? I found it very useful with my Android.

You can talk on the phone and surf the net on 3G with AT&T, but not with Verizon or Sprint because they use different signal technology. However you can surf and talk on the phone with Verizon & Sprint if you're connected to WiFi.

I used to be able to surf the net and talk on the phone when I owed a Treo years ago....never could understand why I couldn't with the newer phones and technology???

Yeah Verizon and Sprint use CDMA technology and AT&T and T-Mobile uses GSM.
