Hardy says he's up to 299...

Just 8 days ago, we read an article from Wyche quoting Rivera saying that Hardy had lost weight, and that he was now down in the high 270's, and therefore was primed for a breakout season.

One of these two reports is wrong.

Something is off here. I would say that he looks pretty damn close to 300 though.

Well being that Greg Hardy HIMSELF posted that on twitter, I think he knows how much he weighs and what his body fat is... So I'm gonna take his word for it.

I think that there are many reasons for Rivera to not tell the truth about his weight... Hardy probably just fugged up quite honestly. Rivera obviously didnt want the general public to know this.

LOL I'm afraid there's only one way to add 22lbs of muscle in that amount of time...

I don't have a problem with it, I just hope he doesn't get caught.

Well, Rivera said he weighed around 290 last year so if Rivera was indeed lying about him being 276, then Hardy probably just bulked up from where he was last year and not from 276.

But yeah, there is only one way to go from 276 to 299 that quickly.

It is true that teams fib about a players weight for various reasons... in this case it could have been to help discourage the "hey lets run the ball at the skinny guy" idea.

I know where you're going with that... and I've said the same...BUT

I put on 25 pounds of muscle without any steroids or supplements whatsoever. I just ate and drank an occasional protein shake (Gatorade ones) I did it in 4.5 months.

It's possible, very possible. He's had longer than 4 months to boot. I was going to the gym twice a day and swimming laps in a pool in between, and would run in the evenings.

I was in the best shape of my life when i was doing that obviously. I weighed 196 at one point, and when i got back from down South my wife hated that i was that big... she made me stop going to the gym so much... So now I only weight 185, all of the weight I lost was muscle. I was an eating machine though... good times, and good memories. That was a great trip

But Hardy is an elite athlete who was presumably already training his butt off at 276... so how much more could he do beyond what he was already doing to suddenly add 22lbs of muscle?

    • Yep. I was hoping for and calling for a day three guy. But I didn’t research the position to say if we should or should‘t have jumped at a particular guy at a particular spot.    And everything I read said it was a poor draft for RBs depth wise. I guess when Seattle takes a backup RB in the 1st, that kind of backs that up.    I definitely think we should keep 4 running backs and if King can play well enough then keep him too.    I believe I heard Canales say we are a running team (talking about drafting a WR he will be needing to block as well as catch). Well if we are gonna be a running team by identity we don’t need to stock the WR room to overflowing. If one room has to sacrifice, it should not be the RB room given our circumstances.
    • If there's a pattern I'm definitely picking up from Dan and company is a philosophy of making trades where we try not to sacrifice the number of draft picks we have by day's end. In other words, we're not giving up three picks for one, or giving up a future pick to make a pick today. And even if we give up something at the start, we make trades later to make up for that initial loss. Here's how it stacked up for 2026: How we started: 19, 51, 83, 119, 158, 159, 200 How we ended: 19, 49, 83, 129, 144, 151, 227 (no future picks sacrificed) Ultimately, we moved up two spots in the second to ensure we got someone we coveted, gave up a few spots for our fourth round pick, but then had better picks in the 5th (and got really good value out of them), and had a worse 7th rounder which isn't that big of a loss anyways.  At this point, we can question who they draft, but they're pretty good maneuvering across the draft board.
    • I just saw the funniest thing...or very disappointing, depending how you handle misery. A guy on YouTube did a 2027 'way too early' mock draft.  If I told you the simulator has the Panthers selecting in the top 10 , what would you say?  If I told you it was pick #8 and only two QBs were taken in the top 7, what would you say?  If I told you this dude had us taking a defensive player, what would you say?
