Mixon interview on local public radio...

I have to agree that this was a very good interview. Sure Mick is somewhat of a rah rah but that is his job. Obviously from what he has said the atmosphere in the locker room and among players is very encouraging and they are expecting big things. Seems to me that anything short of the playoffs this year will be a huge disappointment. This year kind of reminds me of 2005 coming off of a late run in 2004 and so many injuries. If the defense improves as it hopefully should, we certainly should be in every game and should win our share. It has been some time since there was this much optimism in Pantherland.

I agree about Mixon. Rah Rah is what he is paid to do. He probably doesn't possess what many would call a brilliant football mind but he does recognize confidence and expectation levels in athletes. He can sense a buzz and really has never been the kind of guy to sugar coat things or try to build hype. He tells it like it is. Also, the approaching 2005 comparison is interesting. I know I'm pumped.

3 cheers for the OP and the self proclaimed "boring thread title". I like boring thread titles, a.k.a. "accurate" threat titles.

Honestly it was exactly what I expected from a Panther interview on NPR (I heard it driving to work the other day).

Lacked substance and real information for the most part but he did reinforce the locker room atmosphere and optimism the team has for this season. That sort of thing from a team tends to echo out into the fanbase...so at the very least the beginning of this season should be interesting.

Also I'll 2nd the attaboy for the "boring thread title". I enjoy knowing exactly what I'll get when I open a thread...

Wow, that was terrible. The interviewer didn't know poo about the Panthers and all Mick did was circlejerk the team.

Listening to him talk it sounded like we won the Super Bowl and are coming back for seconds this year.

I agree. I wish he would talk about how terrible the team is, how many holes there are to fill, how Cams overrated, and then remind us that it doesnt matter anyhow cus the world ends December 21st anyway. smh

Yeah, because there is no middle ground right? You either have to suck the collective teams dick or trash them? Those are the only options.

    • I would say that seems like an odd comment from Morgan, but at the same time it's almost impossible to find a college QB declaring for the draft to have less physical ability than BY so you can assume almost anyone you bring in would be your go to QB sneak/designed run guy.
    • Gronk is the best TE of all time, but he also played with Brady. Clarke was great, but had Peyton and in an era TE's didn't make crazy money. Kittle is great, but the two times he's made the SB, he was still on his rookie contract for one, and the other the 49ers had Purdy on a cheap rookie deal which help them build the rest of the roster. So again, it's not about not wanting an elite TE, of course it would be nice.  But realistically, in today's NFL, unless that elite TE with a top end TE salary is on a team with a GOAT level QB and/or other serious cap savings (i.e. key players on rookie deals), then I think it's not a good use of cap space.
    • This place was the poo pre tepper with tons of hilarious posters like phillyB. Joined in the 2000s during the 07 season and have been here bitching about this team since. but yeah its sadly been dying a slow death, every time I come to this site I am surprised its still up. I think the 2015 season was the absolute peak, the Panthers and this board especially just haven't "felt" the same since then. Igo should really sell the board since he clearly doesn't care anymore. Also, Reddit blows and the Bryce defenders on there need Jesus.
